But I hope we won't have to wait so long for season three.
I loved this show - never understood why it was so overlooked. Put it down to Hollywood having no sense of humour about itself.
Great writing, all the actors totally throw themselves into their parts. My favourite, no surprise, would have to be Christine Baranski as Maryanne.
Well worth a viewing.

Cybill and Mary Ann are just superb. Mary Ann as Cybill's sidekick just gets better and more fun. Love this series, am so glad that they are avail. on DVD's, may the other seasons come soon!
Still hilarious

Cybill is a natural as is Christine Baranski but together they are unbeatable. I bought Season 1, and am now waiting for Season 3. Still one of the funniest shows I have ever watched.
A great sitcom

They don't make 'em like this anymore. The show was great, a real good quality comedy, unfortunately back stage politics saw it come to an untimely end after just four seasons.
Cybill Sheperd was very good in this, and more than held up her end of things. Christine Baranski was truly brilliant, this talented actress just about stole any scene she appeared in much to Sheperd's chagrin. This resulted in Sheperd carefully screening scripts every week and counting Baranski's dialogue, and insisting her line were cut to match Sheperd's own. There was only one victim of this behaviour, the show.
The chemistry between the two women is unmistakable, and is only matched (in my view) by the partnership of Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance who had similar difficulties.
The way they bounce off each other gives no hint of how unbearable things must have beeen off set for Baranski.
A stellar cast all round, in this very funny first rate show.
Roll on Season 3...

Ok after cancellation after cancellation of this release of Season 2 of Cybill it finally came out on July 2.
This is such an overlooked comedy gem that needs to be part of your DVD collection. This is where Cybill started to hit its stride, although throughout the 4 year run its was brilliantly written and entertaining to watch. This release comes with a whopping 6 disks, this time in a plastic keepcase instead of the prior cardboard box used for season 1, this is much nicer.
The large number of disks make for an excellent transfer in quality so its a 10/10 on that part and also a 10/10 for the marvelous episodes.
Hopefully Season 3 wont be far behind and especially have to wait over a year for it, so rush out and buy this set now so the following 2 seasons will be released.
