Sloppy Production
Review date: 2008-04-07 Rating: 2 out of 10
There's little to commend this film. It was never going to be easy to match the original so it appears that the producer (Christopher Figg) hasn't bothered. Excellent locations and the dog's a star but the remainder of the production was disappointingly lazy, they couldn't even be get the right breed of dog.

Charming FilmReview date: 2007-08-28 Rating: 10 out of 10The illustration on the cover of the DVD does not reflect how visualy impressive the movie is. Its beautifuly shot and makes good use of the historic Scottish town of Stirling and its Castle doubling for old Edinburgh. The whole thing is very well done and has a good cast and guest appearance by Christopher Lee as the Lord Provost of Edinburgh! I really would recommend this movie as good family viewing, it appeals to adults and children alike as well as dog lovers, my nephews have watched it several times over and it keeps them glued to the screen and I must say I have enjoyed watching it a few times with them. A thoroughly charming film and a rarity to find wholesome entertainement of this kind. enchantingReview date: 2007-05-03 Rating: 8 out of 10A very warm hearted film, told simply but with a great sense of loyalty. It is a shame this film has not been more widely seen. A sensitive soundtrack adds to the charm. I wholeheartedly recommend this film for great family viewingDisappointingReview date: 2006-07-25 Rating: 2 out of 10I wouldn't recommend this film as I thought the acting was poor. The actor James Cosmo and Bobby the dog were the only stars. Some of the Scottish acents were dreadful and I found it quite boring in some parts. I persevered watching it thinking it would get better.......but, no such luck. Greyfriars BobbyReview date: 2006-07-23 Rating: 10 out of 10I watched this film with my Westie and found it both sad and enjoyable veiwing. A film about a loyal Westie who when his owner dies lays by his grave and when a law comes in about the fate of stray dogs he needs help from the Lord Provost and the Town of Edinburgh to put things right.
