My 6 year old son and me both, enjoyed this DVD from the year I was born. I was so pleased my son enjoyed it even though it was from 'my era'.

Shows how much technology has improved since this was recorded. But lovely to remember watching with my son now 37!

Not a top conversion from 1967 tv show it's wobbly at the start of the dvd .
Fun for Charlotte, nostalgic for me

My two year old daughter Charlotte loves these stories. I'm enjoying reliving my childhood.
These programmes are a bit dated now- and all the better for that. I had forgotten just how much of the fun is listening to Brian Cant's mellifluous tones. And how the firemen seem to be needed in every episode. I had always thought more happened in each instalment as a child. As an adult I now realise how little needs to happen in any one epiosde of a children's programme. Recognisable characters and simple narratives seem to matter far more than lots of events for children.
As another reviwer has commented you do need to turn the volume up quite high with these DVDs. It was a shock when I stopped the DVD and the TV went back to ordinary programmes. I had to rapidly grab the remote and turn the volume back down.
I can recommend this DVD to modern parents and children.

What a success! My grandson, coming up to four, is obsessed with Fireman Sam, so I thought I would see how he liked these. He demands "Trumpton" as he walks in the door; roars with laughter as they slide down the pole and try to use the hose. The repetition is a big part of the attraction for the children, if not so much for the adults, but they do enjoy the nostalgia of bits they remember from their own childhood.
