This is truely an excellent tribute concert. Filming and sound quality are both superb.
Ok there may only be 10 tracks performed but each and every one is played with great feeling by a variety of Thin Lizzy artists. Thoroughly enjoy listening time and again and watching with amazement these talented guys perform.
Definately recommended for any Thin Lizzy fan.

Not that greatReview date: 2007-12-11 Rating: 6 out of 10Gary Moore's voice lets this down big time, Jailbreak sounds thin with just him on guitar. Black Rose is probably the highlight of the DVD, Goram can still rock.
The bonus feature interviews are interesting enough, does what it says on the tin really.
It is quite poor musicall compared to the 20/20 tour which, the modern lizzy, embarked on to mark the occasion and I would far have preferred a copy of that on DVD.
The atmosphere the DVD gives make the gig and crowd feel dead, and I just can't enjoy it.
Moore can be far too self indulgent with blues solos and lets not forget not long after the filming of this dvd that Moore said "old men playing rock was sad" and now refrains from doing so, somehow I have the feeling if Lynott were alive he would disagree.
DVD is well enough produced/filmed, better quality than any other lizzy DVD on market anyway, but i'd save your money and get the Live and Dangerous DVD, far, far better if you are a true lizzy fan, this is one for the Gary Moore fan.Good but not the real thingReview date: 2007-08-02 Rating: 8 out of 10It is almost a tragedy that there is not a single decent DVD of Thin Lizzy performing live. Anyone who knew how to rock loved Lizzy and despite the various arrivals and departures of the guitar line-up they were always awesome.
This DVD could only ever be a half-decent substitute for the real thing because of the absence of Phil Lynott. That said Gary Moore has done fans a great service by getting this concert together.
Personally I never really thought of Moore as a real part of Lizzy. I always preferred the Scott Goram/Brian Robertson pairing that gave Lizzy its destinctive sound. That for me was the major disappointment of the concert ... Goram and Roberston each played a couple of songs with Gary Moore, but never played together even on the encores, which left you wondering if there was still a lot of bitterness and strife involved.
Still what you get are 8 of Lizzy's top songs sandwiched by 2 of Gary Moores solo showpieces. I would have preferred a few more Lizzy showpieces like Suicide, Massacre or Warriors.
If I have a conmplaint its that there is too much Moore (especially in the extended Parisienne Walkways. I know its a matter of taste but although he is a great guitar player he just doesn't do it for me in the same way say Rory Gallagher or Stevie Ray does. He also looks uncomfortably fat and bloated :)
This isn't and never could be a DVD "Live and Dangerous" but its now the next best thing. The concert is about 75 mins and you get 15 mins or so of interviews as well.Great Tribute to a Great ManReview date: 2007-03-16 Rating: 10 out of 10I was there for this travelling from Sheffield for the unvieling w/e on Grafton Street the night before the concert which I found very moving owing to the masses of people from all over the world and also local people who were talking of their fondness of PL being a local guy.
I decided not write a review about the concert until I got the views of others owing to me being biased but having seen the general flavour of opinion I will add mine.
Gary Moore was superb carrying the show from start to finish and although I was disappointed that Gorham and Robertson did'nt line up together to be honest I think if they had it would have been a disapointment as BR appeared to be struggling. Scott Gorham was very good and Brian Downey was the usual class act at the back pounding away holding it all together.
Gary Moores performance as usual was superb and although slightly over indulgent in covering too many songs alone I think the mix was right. His Performance was faultless from start to Finish - a lesson in guitar masterclass. Close your eyes and Listen to the solo in Black rose as Moore does the lot by himself. Great Mixture of songs, fantastic sound and video images and testament to all Lizzy members.
Eric Bell's performance provides a different slant on Whiskey in the jar and it made me realise what agood song this was/is for being done Live.
The interviews at the end of the DVD are also a good insight into the workings of the band far better than the other DVD's of lizzy which have appeared on the scene over the last few years which are appalling and do Lizzy or PL Lynott Justice. Buy this as this is it is reflects the class of Lizzy and PL songwriting skills.
One for the Old Lizzy Fans, The new Fans and anyone who appreciates Rock Music.Well done Lads... Gary Moore-Respect!!!.
A fitting tribute to the Warrior PoetReview date: 2007-03-13 Rating: 10 out of 10I have little doubt that Phil rocked along with this whole gig. From the first moment that GM pounds out "Walking.." to the closing bars of "Parisenne Walkways", Gary not only demonstrates that he is in the league where few can go, maybe these days, only himself and Jeff Beck, but his depth of passion shows his love for his old buddy. It's pretty well documented that the love/hate relationship between Phil and Gary was one of a lot more love than hate, and Gary certainly does his old friend plenty of justice. Robbo, although not as fluent as his Live & Dangerous performances still rocks out, and Scott Gorham, even with a Strat, albeit a decently modded one, acquits himslef with a great deal of pride, and after all SG has kept the Lizzy name alive.
Probably one of the most pleasurable DVDs I've ever bought and a must have for all Lizzy fans. As another reviewer said tho.....it's cool that Sykes isn't here, but a shame that Snowy wasn't roped in for a number or two off Chinatown and Renegade. But hell, what's here is well worth the watch....still here? Off you trot and buy it!!!
