brilliant!
Review date: 2010-07-13 Rating: 10 out of 10

Been a charmed lover I bought this on the off chance and to my surprise found it was brilliant. After the first episode i was totally hooked, just gutted to find that it ended after so few episodes. The second season helped me to fulfil my cravings for more Hex and it turned out to be better than the first. Can't believe that there was never a third season after leaving us with such a dramatic ending. I just want to know what happens next. I'd recommend to anyone buy this. It's brilliant!

What a let down...
Review date: 2010-04-26 Rating: 4 out of 10

I think the writers were genuinely shocked to get a second series commissioned and only had enough ideas for another 3-4 episodes. Whoever wrote this should have just done another series of 6, and then allowed the creative juices to flow for a bit before the did the other storylines and created a good final series three. I suppose the rush to keep the few remaining actors under contract made this all a rush job? Shame..

Season 2, is that really the end :(

I am really glad I was able to see the ending of the show. It think it really developed the characters well. I am sad to see that it ended so soon, with so much hanging in the balance. I wish the would have continued along!!!
It is definitely a must see

HEX season 2

Jemima Rooper saves the Show....I liked Cassie she was sexy and naive, Ella is strange not bad but Christina Cole was better....and some of the episodes are little meaningless...but still 4stars worthly:)

A great, original British show
Review date: 2009-03-25 Rating: 10 out of 10

After a fairly weakly written first series, I was not expecting much of this, but I went ahead nonetheless knowing that being a longer series and having new characters, it may be worth the watch. And WOW, it really was.

The structuring and pacing of the stories is so much better than the first series. Characters are explored in more depth and the new characters' stories introduced are full of excitement, comedy and horror. The series even dares to go to far darker and more edgy places than before, even being totally unafraid to kill off some very central characters to keep the plot moving - a feat of writing which thoroughly impressed me.

Firstly, Ella Dee is an amazing character. After the weak, moody and alienating character of Cassie from series one, Ella is a fresh burst of life: a female character who will garner the respect of the Buffy generation - something not easily done. Her story of complicated journey has much potential for dark exploration, not to mention her modern story involving cool fights, adorable moments and great comedy. Similarly, other already-established characters do not go in the direction you would expect and this unpredicability leads to some of the best arcs and storylines you'll see: watch out for the cute Maya, foxy Roxanne and best of all, the gorgeous Leon.

Along with the fresh superior writing, the sets and special FX are impressive for a fairly low budget show. The 1920's Berlin is something to behold, as is the amazing looking Nephilim, and those nasty but striking torture scenes. The hair, make-up and costume departments certainly pull their weight.

And of course, there is some great acting. Laura Pyper is particularly impressive. And seeing Michael Fassbender in a role before his more recent arty films is great: a truly imposing actor who was recently described by Dazed and Confused as having 'the on-screen weight of Daniel Day Lewis without the off-screen actorly pretension.'

Hex Season Two is a great series not to be missed!
