Fantastic!
Review date: 2006-03-09 Rating: 8 out of 10

If you're lucky enough to own seasons 1 and 2 of this fantastic show then you'll know how hilarious it is and won't need much encouragement to purchase season 3.

If you're new to the show, then I highly recommend it - it has everything you'd want from a sitcom: great one-liners, amusing situations, love triangles, and the reassuring presence of a group of 6 close mates who do everything together. It's like Friends, but for a sillier and perhaps slightly younger audience. It does, however, have possibly even more laughs than Friends, and just as high a feel-good factor - it's the kind of show that makes you grin all the way through and you only realise at the end how much you've been smiling. For more info on the characters, read my review for season 1.

There are a couple of weak episodes in season 3 - most notably the 'Too old to trick and treat, too young to die' episode which rips off Hitchcock films but tries too hard to be funny and ends up failing - but mostly the quality is as high (or almost as high) as the first two seasons.

The DVD boxset for this season is certainly an improvement on seasons 1 and 2, however, because of the extra special features. The 'promo' or Tv advert/trailer for every episode is included, and almost every episode includes an optional 1 or 2 minute introduction from a cast member such as Mila Kunis (Jackie), Danny Masterson (Hyde), Debra Jo Rupp (Kitty), Wilmer Valderama (Fez) or Kurtwood Smith (Red). These introductions range from a brief summary of the episode to a quite long anecdote about amusing incidents that occurred during the filming, and are definitely worth watching.

In addition, there are some episode commentaries, although a word of warning - these include spoilers! My advice is not to listen to them until you've watched the entire series unless you're happy to know what happens with the different relationships later in the season. I was really annoyed when certain things were revealed in a commentary on the first disc that I just didn't want to know.

All in all then it's a fantastic show and the special features really makes the fans feel like some effort has been put into the boxset. Buy it, you'll laugh and laugh :). Can't wait for season 4!

I can't wait till this DVD is released! As i am now a '70s Show fanatic! Like is not the word for my feelings towards this show, if it was possible i would marry it. No not that far it only a show. anyway as i have mensioned before this show is one of a kind. I mensioned "3rd Rock From the Sun" in my last review, but now thinking about it, it is by far funnier. I roll around my seat when i'm watching this show. Bonnie & Terry Turner and Mark Brazill, i have to hand it to them they are the creators of this show and i want to meet them! If you read my review on the Season one boxset you will better understand what i'm talking about!
