Fantastic workout when easing back into exercise!
Review date: 2008-09-02 Rating: 10 out of 10
I had a baby 6 weeks ago and really wanted to ease back into exercise and shift some post-baby weight.
The whole work out takes approximately 1 hour but it is split into several different sections (Warm-up, Cardio vascular, Upper body toning, Standing stretch, Lower body toning, Floor stretch, Abs, Cool down) so if you dont have enough time to do the whole dvd you can pick and choose which areas you want to work on.
Having not exercised regularly for many years now, I found this workout easy to follow and really enjoyable, I will definitely be sticking at it.

Cheap, fun & great!Review date: 2008-05-28 Rating: 10 out of 10I'm really surprised this has got such bad reviews, I think it's fantastic! As another reviewer mentioned it's not so much a dance dvd as workout dvd to get a dancer's body. The instructor is hilarious his campness kept me laughing and martine is quiet most of the time and just lets him instruct. I like the fact it's broken down into different sections such as upper body, lower body, etc because if you want you can just target specific areas.
It may not be to everyone's taste but I think it's a great dvd and if you buy from a seller your going to end up paying less then £2 for it like I did, so what have you got to lose but the weight! ;)My First ViewingReview date: 2007-12-15 Rating: 6 out of 10I've just been given this DVD as a present and also a new incentive to lose weight for my part of Sharpay in High School Musical which i will be performing in at school in February! I'm 16 years old and as i have always been quite a fan of Martine i was pleased with the gift! As a keen dancer (but with no professional training) i found the warm-up quite simple to follow and fun which encouraged me to carry on. Like other reviews have said it was later on in the workout that i was left feeling a little lost and confused as the choreographer did not explain himself enough or explain in enough detail how to complete the moves - it is quite difficult to look at the TV and complete exercises where you are facing the floor! I have only watched this DVD once and therefore cannot comment on everything as i have not yet tried the workout for long enough to see if it has any effects - i hope to lose a couple of stone before my performance and therefore i am going to continue with Martine Dancebody for a while longer! I would recommend this DVD to anyone who enjoys Dance - although if you are a beginner to exercise routines (a bit like me) it is quite a challenge to begin with and hard to get used to! If you've done body toning before, this complements your regular runReview date: 2007-12-01 Rating: 6 out of 10This DVD hasn't aged much since 2005, but the exercises are frustratingly stretchy and not cardio-based. If the rest of your exercise regime is running round the block, this is great to support that with toning and stretching.
If you like your instructors camp, this one is fabulous : he does slinky stretching, 'body ripples' and hand flashes to make 'spirit fingers' look mainstream. Although he really avoids explaining the moves, I found it quite refreshing. For example, he introduces the abs section by saying 'abdominals' and going into a series of crunches. If you've done plenty of this kind of thing, it's quite nice just to get on with it. I agree that for beginners this is pretty dangerous. He doesn't mention body alignment, breathing or balance. He has a habit of staying quiet when the moves change so you have to get used to the routines. Martine is almost mute but has a couple of cute one-liners.
This DVD takes up hardly any space in your living room and only needs a towel if you don't have carpet, no weights or anything like that. If you get used to it easily and you've done similar workouts before this is great to support a more cardio-based exercise regime.BrilliantReview date: 2007-02-05 Rating: 10 out of 10I love this work out it is so easy to follow great fun and there isn't anyone talking all the way through it or stick thin models with nothing much on. Martine is very down to earth I love her little comments they make me Laugh and the dance teacher is good. I have loads of energy doing the workout and I feel brilliant when I'm finished.
