strange cinematic experiance
Review date: 2008-08-25 Rating: 8 out of 10
This is a like or loath film.
the enjoyment of this film is the feeling or surrealism and being jarred from reality with a hint of discovery. almost voyeuristic in the fact that you watch it for the pleasure of watching it. If you understand what i just said you'll like the film if not don't even attempt to bother.
what the film isn't. comical light hearted, set in a time period, dramatics, romantic and there is no life lessons here. there is no action or adventure. this is purely a visual feast. its what i like to call art for arts sake
the films that it is like are Delicatessen and Brazil. both films very much in the same vain and all made around the same period.

Looking forward from an island Review date: 2007-09-29 Rating: 6 out of 10A movie of a post-mama functioning hotel on an island where no one is going to is a coming from NZ satirically ambiguous prediction about the future, rather than an expressionist story of a family business still technically functioning but in deep need for being substantially updated from the very grounds in accordance with modern world surrounding.
Some sex and homoerotism are being deployed.
splendideReview date: 2007-01-03 Rating: 8 out of 10this is a light hearted but wonderfully quirky, off the wall film, and strangely enjoyable, quite funny and worth a watch, toni is great, as always.
