awful

A truly awful film. If slow panning and unbelievable acting is a substitute for mood then I could do better than this.

With a good mate and some beers, this is that perfect film for making you laugh out loud throughout for having been such suckers in getting this one. There is a record-breaking chasm between some of its reviews and its horrendous reality. Even had the sub-titles been more discernable, the film would still be no clearer than the fat lady's genitalia. She's a sort of mother-in-law's mother-in-law. Ofcourse, the sex is gratuitous but so is everything else including the murder. About as cliff-hanging as a patch of squashed weeds on a mountain top.

Powerful film but not for the faint hearted

Here's art cinema at it's best. I found it gripping, disturbing, unconventional, unnerving and with a surprising ending. The characters are bordering on repulsive but that is obviously intentional. There is some kind of religious undertone and many questions left unanswered. Don't expect a beautiful love story but watch it if you are more into the experimental side of cinema.

What????

I'm English and a non-Spanish speaker, but this has subtitles. But what the hell was going on. I found the plot incredibly hard to follow! It may be intended that way but I can't offer any film any type of commendation if I can't understand what the hell is going on. Amazon give a relative over veiw but I saw this once and one day may attempt to watch it again but not till I acquire some Spanish. This plot requires a lot of brain power to follow and as far as I am concerned a basic knowledghe of Spanish!

A Whimper in Hell

Tedious, predictable, ugly and just plain boring - this is a purely indifferent film that seems patched together by a student running late on an Arthouse pastiche assignment.

It is hard to locate something that is either original or innovative enough to justify its hour and a half viewing time ; the narrative thread is negligible, the protagonists poorly realised (I was going to put 'fleshed out'), the docu-camera work jaded and dated, the setting uninspired and the message...well Eastenders could probably arrive their in just under half an hour.

To hammer in the final nail - the titillating subtext that a subtitled European film often suggests - is simply not there, unless your 'thing' is Sumo-sized middle aged McFlubbers grinding out a few extra minutes.

I'm off to watch an 'On the Buses' triple header...
