Remember, Its NOT REAL
Review date: 2007-12-02 Rating: 10 out of 10

I am a teenage girl aged 13, the other night my younger brother put on Sky High while i was doing my homework. I looked up and thought 'oh, another of those pointless films he always watches' when actually after 5 minutes i was intrigued! It was funny, entertaining, and a good 'hero V villain' kind of movie. In reply to 'L.Streader', whats wrong with the baby gun?! The plot of the film is obviously not real, with them being superheroes and all, so why not have a fictional gun?
Overall, a great film, and although it was 'love' side of the plot was a bit obvious, I'd recommend this to anyone. =]

this has to be one of the worse film I have ever seen in my whole life, the Plot is wafer thin the acting terrible, the only good actor is Kurt Russell who does'nt really take his very seriously (which is a good thing as nobody else does) and as for villain ha I've seen better villain on the care bears show who in this world invent's a gun that turns people into babies ???? take my advice use your time and money more wisely.

Bloody waste of time

This film is actually quite long. If SAW was the length of this film I`d be pleased, but with this film length is something you don`t want. It`s basically wasted time you can be doing more interesting things like counting the number of plastic bags you have in your house, and noting down what coulor they are... I watched it with a friend, and it was only ten o`clock when I had to be woken up by him! This is the synopsys: Superhero kid discoweres his powers, and dumps a supervillain girlfriend. It all ends the same way as it begins. The only good bit is at the beggining. That is what saved the DVD from going in the microwave for 20 secongd and becoming an ornament hanging from the roof. If you bother buying this piece of ****, Than watch it late at night, when you can atleast make the most of the sleep you`ll get! Ovia...zzzzzzzzzzz

Hackneyed I know but really one for all the family!

I thought this might be terrible but just watched this with 10, 12 and 17 year old offspring (boy and girls) and we all loved it - reminded me of the brilliant Galaxy Quest. And the parents will also appreciate some interesting soundtrack covers by current artists of 80's (Why the 80's?) greats by Smiths, Talking Heads, The (British) Beat and others.

A decent one for the kids

Okay, I watched this one because it's got Kurt Russell in it, but the actual star here is Michael Angarano. He plays Will, the son of two celebrated superheroes (Russell and Kelly Preston). Will is off to Sky High, an X-Men style school for gifted children, but he's hiding his apparent lack of super powers. Young Will has to deal with all the usual problems kids in these films face - his girl friend who wants to be his girlfriend, the alienated kid who wants to beat him up, the difficulties of fitting into the right social group, the temptation of the school hotty - except here it's all done in bold colours with arch camera angles and he has to fight a super villain called Royal Pain at the homecoming dance.

Kurt Russell takes more of a supporting role in this one as Will's dad, but he's very funny in his few scenes. He looks like a complete idiot in his superhero costume, but that's kind of the point. This is not one of those serious films about broody heroes with psychological problems - this is a big, broad film made with a sense of gleeful silliness, and Russell does his Captain Ron best to fit right in.

Even though this is clearly aimed at the younger end of the film-going public, I ended up liking it quite a bit. It has enough laughs to keep the grown-ups happy, everyone involved looks like they're having a lot of fun with the material, and it does a great job at providing the kind of clean-cut family entertainment you expect from Disney.
