DVD Description

Urban Workout - A fresh new way to get fit! Urban Workout is a fitness routine created from a simple concept. If you love dancing and music - either on the dance floor or at home, then this is the workout for you! It's all about simple moves to smooth beats. Concentrate on the exercise and fitness and you'll be busting the moves before you know it! Find your own energy and pace in the music and soon your body will be conditioned, leaving you looking fly from head to toe!

Urban Workout follows an easy step-by-step format. After the warm-up comes the " slo & lo " section, showing you some basic moves to slower tracks. Next, take it mid-tempo for the " mid-section " - a routine designed to work your muscles and build your stamina. Then comes the " hard & heavy " workout, full-on fitness at a pumped up pace. Finish off with the cool down to calm your muscles and relax your whole body.

OKAY, TURN UP THE MUSIC AND GET READY TO GET IN SHAPE WITH THE URBAN WORKOUT!

Not a traditional workout DVD, but you knew that.

This is one I bought in the hope the soundtrack would be great. Well, it's OK, but not as motivating as I'd hope from the blurb. You can dance along to it, and it will give you some exercise, but it's not as interesting as the Pump It Up series, and the "Cooool" dancers are frankly rather contrived and artificially "hip", which along with the location (wow, it's a car park!!) shouted Cheap DVD rather than Useful Workout. If you do it the way the dancers do (hard to work out some of their moves sometimes) then it is OK exercise. but I don't find myself wanting to go back to it very often.

Buy if - you want a low stress DVD to dance along to and aren't bothered about traditional structure

Avoid if - you want to have an organised workout that feels like you are working out all your muscle groups

I was a little hesitant at first when i bought this dvd, but it is so good it's untrue for me atleast anyway. Unlike other workout dvds where you get bored repeating the same routines. THE Workouts in urban workout all comprimise of dance moves so you can incorporate them into dance routines and busk em out to songs on your ipod as well, definetly a must by especially if your in to dancing. Definetly provides a good workout to do alongside your classes to as it def. improves your strenght and your stamina.

This had such promise, the cover the choreography to the stars- I have probably played it twice and now it's relegated to the bottom of the DVD pile along with "bootylicious." The moves are basic one minute then really complicated the next- it is very repetative and just doesn't get anything right- the location is questionable and although you do work up a bit of a sweat I can think of better ways of doing this - hoovering, washing the car.............

Disapointed!!

When i looked at the previous reviews for this dvd i thought it would be for me, as i am totally clueless at dancing but i got the total wrong impression. This dvd would be a good way to work out if you are already a dancer but apart from that it just makes you feel stupid because the moves are impossible and you are given no guidance how to do them. So i was very disapointed with this dvd

Not loving the soundtrack!!!

The Urban Workout is a little disappointing for me. Although it is a great & enjoyable workout which does get you into a sweat the soundtrack which the dance moves are put to is absolutly terrible!!! The 'slammin tunes' which it says are featured on the DVD are not heard until the cool down section right at the end!
It's such a shame really as the routines are really fun & enjoyable but the music is crap! The music is cheesy instrumental pap that sounds like it's been taken from an old 1990's video game! It couldn't even be classed as hip hop! Not the kind of music I'd ever dance to out of choice! If I was on a night out having a good boogie & those tracks came on I'd be the first one to leave the dancefloor & sit down!
Funnily enough the DVD says "if you love dancing & you love music- then this is the workout for you". Well I love both dancing & music though I certainly aint loving the music in this workout at all!!! Even if you love music it's unlikely you'll like the music that the routines are set to!
The workout is a very good one if you enjoy dancing & some of the moves are very cool indeed. Some are a little complicated & take a few goes to master. Any workout for me is good if it gets me into a sweat & this certainly does that. However I have to say the soundtrack is a total disappointment which no-one else seems to have mentioned in other reviews. The soundtrack is that bad (in my opinion) that it puts me off wanting to do the workout!!! If the soundtrack was different maybe I would have rated Urban Workout with 5 stars - however it is as it is therefore it only gets 3!
