Amazing

Amazing that such a crapfest that was the first D&D movie should have a sequel that surpasses it in every way!

Good acting, solid D&D plot and nice digital effects.

I too was highly dubious about buying this after the utter crud of the first film but it exceeded all expectations. I don't even mean that this film is only good because it's better than the rubbish first, it's actually a GOOD fantasy film.

I'm writing this at 22.30 after just finishing the film and I'm a 41 yr old married family man, not a D&D teenage-fanatic! (Ok I used to be one....ok I still play occasionally...)

Anyway....

Don't be put off by the first film, give this one a try. I PROMISE you will be happy with your purchase :)

First I must start with I did enjoy watching the first one. Knowing Solomon's time and money constraints. Well done. Now onto the new movie. Of course the direction, sets and acting is much better. But I am sure so was the budget. The characters were well cast. It is a shame that Mr. Solomon did not participate in some way though.

I loved watching how when you watched this movie I could relate to some of the charcaters you have played. The magic is well done as are the monsters. If you will excuse the term, this movie is much more realistic then the first one. You will watch as the standard five member party negotiate traps, fight monsters and use magic to get out of trouble.

Far Far Better than the First, and how DnD SHOULD be done.

The title almost says it all. This follows the settings, archetypes, weapons, magic and monsters to the book. This is a testament to how the first film should have been done. Although it does suffer a little from its budget constraints it still is an enjoyable romp. All we need now for the next one (if there ever will be one) is a bigger budget, some top-notch effects, set the story in the Forgotten Realms with some familiar faces from there and so on and we'll have a blockbuster smash.

White Dragon!!!, No, Big Shadow Dragon instead!!!!

Well, lets put another way. These 2 dragons in the film, really looked the part. Fantastic CGI, a much better plot line, and you can actually see where the characters go up levels in the film. A very impressive second effort. It has redeemed the D&D world, htough one part I found very perplexing. Why would a Lich work for Damadar, when the Lich was obviuosly more powerful? I loved the way talks to him though, just like a typical Lich should.
For all you non D&D people out there, a Lich is a wizard who has purposely become undead to continue to gain power.
The acting was far better too, they actually seemed to feel the part of the roles they were playing. Worht a look for any D&D fan, you'll be pleasantly suprised.

Well Done!

After the travisty that was the first film I didn't look forward to seeing this. The First seemed to have no idea what it was supposed to be.All hollywood buddy buddy. This is a VAST improvement. In fact forget the first one exists and move straight on to this one.The class of acting is far superior to the first.I can't recommend this any more.Brilliant.
