This effectively killed the franchise!!
Review date: 2008-07-15 Rating: 4 out of 10

Where do you start with this one? Now I love the Ghoulies films but there is something not right with this one. Sure the guy from the original is in it but that doesn't in any way give it a sense of quality. The Ghoulies have changed their appearence over the years. In Ghoulies 1 & 2 they appeared to be clay models that were filmed in later. Ghoulies 3 were animatronics and this one...well it appears to be two midgets in tatty robes with what looks like a childs attempt to make something scary. They look more like the enemies of the Care Bears than the demons of hell.
The Ghoulies films are all about dark humour but this one skipped that, it's more childish comedy than adult comedy which is a real shame.
If you want a film that looks, feels and is acted better then go for Ghoulies Go To College. I preferred that to this one and even 1 & 2 (which is weird cos I always like the first films of franchises). There is just more comedy and better effects like the girl in the shower who has a plunger shoved in her face, classic comedy moment and very much slapstick.
The end of the Ghoulies IV makes me laugh as they turn to the camera and say "See You In Ghoulies V." Erm...No you wont cos to my knowledge another one hasn't been made. I only give this 2 stars as its part of the Ghoulies saga of films and I enjoyed number 3 so much.
Buy if only you are a die hard fan!!

GHOULIES 4
Review date: 2007-01-06 Rating: 4 out of 10

This is the final and most usless of all the ghoulie sequels, it apealed to me only because the guy that played the main character in the first movie played the lead role in this one.The ghoulies themselves seem to have had a makeover, in the first three films in the series they were anamatronicaly operated puppets where as in part 4 they are played by what would apear to be dwarfs wearing rubber mask.
I personally prefered ghoulies 1 and 2 which is available on a double disc, having said that the film does have a nice comic book type feel to it and the acting isn't to bad, i would recomend ghoulies 4 to comedy horror fans but not to fans of ghoulies 1 and 2 which clearly were the first and best films in the series.
