Power Rangers Dino Thunder Volume 3; White Thunder DVD (Region 2) Review
Review date: 2007-06-28 Rating: 10 out of 10
'White Thunder' is one of the best Power Rangers volumes available on DVD. You can't help but sense the connection between the white dino ranger and the green/white mighty morphin power ranger that was ironically doctor oliver a few years back. I think this is a lot to do with Disney taking over the franchise and trying to give a little nostalgia to the Power Rangers community. All good in my book of course! The DVD cover art is quite good and laid out in a presentable fashion with a picture of Zeltrax and Mesogog on the back.
*FROM THE BACK OF THE DVD COVER*
'As Defenders filled with might, They turn darkness into light. Nothing is what it seems as Dino eggs bring out a risky kind of zord-play. A brand new alarm surfaces when Mesagog and henchwoman, Elsa, hatch a plan to stop the rangers. The wily white ranger is born from their blunder, and the Power Rangers have no idea who he is! As Dr O is about to reveal white ranger's true identity, he gets fossilised. The power rangers will have to work together closely to subdue rad dino zords and their most powerful foe yet - white ranger.'
This volume is actually a collection of episodes from the dino thunder season presented in a movie-like fashion which is extremely feel-good. Emma Lahana plays the yellow ranger, Kira, very well in my opinion and is my most favourite ranger to date. Plus she has a lovely singing voice (even if it isn't Emma's own). The fight scenes are exceptional in this collection, the best so far in fact. And as the dino rangers reach their new level of power, so does the storyline unfold at a remarkable pace. It is presented in full frame and the bonuses are quite well-formed. You can practice ninja moves (this volume focuses on the high block kata) and also read fascinating ranger facts on virtual trading cards. A very worthwhile buy, and until they release the whole series on DVD (in the new year apparently yay), this short film will keep you going! May the power live on forever!
