When I first bought this, the Spitting Image TV series had come to an end and I was rather disappointed by the last three series (1994 - 1996) which were frankly nowhere near as good as anything from the older runs. So I was hoping this would be a chance to return to the hilarity of the earlier series. Unfortunately what we have here is an example of the way Spitting Image, in the mid-nineties, joined the money-minded tat industry it was supposed to be satirising. The puppets were hired out for panto, adverts. And, it would seem, this atrocity. From FA to Fair Play can't seem to decide whether it's a football video or a puppet show. Most of it just seems to be footage of football games with voice-overs, the occasional football-related sketch appearing. The humour is pretty spotty, will occasonally raise a smile. But who is this aimed at exactly? Football fans are more likely to buy proper football videos, and I'm sure Spitting Image fans would much rather see episodes or collections of sketches from the series. Now that the Spitting Image series are being released on DVD, this train-wreck is for collectors only.

HirlaiousReview date: 2007-09-18 Rating: 10 out of 10This Video is very funny. Spitting Image use puppets of Gazza, Seaman and Des Lynam,etc.Lol. Good Highlights of euro 96. Definately recommened to buy for any FOOTBALL FAN or SPITTING IMAGE FANQuite weak for Spitting ImageReview date: 2006-06-25 Rating: 4 out of 10I love Spitting Image but I don't like football. I bought this dvd anyway and discoverd it was just going to be full of football.
The Start (0.00-20.00)
Very 90's style music at the start and I'm not very amused yet. Drowsing off by 10 mins.
The Middle (20.00-40.00)
I start to think by this time is this not a comedy at all is this just best football moments.
The End (40.00-54.00)
Finally a couple of jokes involving the Queen but hate how the football players start talking very posh. 90's music comes back on and end credits come on. Then I discover that these are not the usual voices for the puppets!
Few things to say
Why the hell was this rated 15 by the bbfc!
Why did they have to bring this out on dvd they could have released another Spitting Image video on dvd like "Bumbledown & The Sound Of Maggie" or "Rubber Thingies" or "Is Nothing Sacred".
I never thought that Spitting Image had ever got rubbish from 1993 to 1996. I enjoyed these series and would pay anything to get a proper Spitting Image dvd.
It's your choice
Don't get this or Buy it if you want to see it
Utterly AwfulReview date: 2005-06-11 Rating: 2 out of 10This was the most boring unfunny DVD I've ever seen. It doesn't do any credit to the Spitting image team, who I used to watch frequently when on telly and thoroughly enjoyed. The first time I've thrown a DVD in the bin straight after watching it.
