Until I bought this DVD last year, I had real problems finding anything out about this show which I'd watched and enjoyed as a child. Watching it now as a 30 something I can appreciate the hidden innuendo and subtly sarcastic scripting. Can't believe they had the nerve to model the jester on Ken Dodd, the likeness is remarkable! The effeminate prince is also a nice touch. Pure nostalgia!!

If you go down to Cloppa Castle, be prepared to want to leave immediately...
This is one of those things that I guess you might say oh that seemed really good when I was 4 but you watch it now and say, all is forgiven Tweenies. I am not old enough to remember it but in line with other 70s puppet shows and classic tv bought on offer and subject it can't be that bad, I'd give it a go.
I simply find it amazing the people responsible for the Stingray and Thunderbird models are cited as also for these as there is no comparrison. perhaps it is lost in the dvd transfer which incidentally is terrible and looks like a really badly over used vhs quality as it is, but you just can't see any resemblance. I would be left thinking this was in the post glory days or what happens in the 70s but other things have been done so much so successfully.
I didn't personally like the programme anyway, it doesn't seem "crazy" or anything special, it's pretty boring.
Seems to have a cult folowing or rest on the back of its associations only. If looking for anything in the same line then consider this your last option only as it's really dire and mine will be in my local charity shop shortly.
