defining album

I discovered Bonamassa for myself not long ago with the 2008 "live from nowhere in particular" and immediately bought his other albums. Among the latter this one just stands out head and shoulders! Blues/Rock artists are thirteen a dozen these days, but Joe is special. He has got an amazing musical range, masters the guitar like god, but THIS album did for me what Texas Flood (from SRV) did many years ago. This is a pure blues album, covers all from acoustics to slide, from fast to slow, and there is not one weak song.
Honestly I have thousands of blues CD's and I think these days it is not easy to come up with something that just has not been done before. But Bonamassa amazed me, he is special, he really seems to have the blues inside him, and he deserves the hype around him.
I RECOMMEND this Cd without reservaton to all blues fans.

I have a wide musical taste but my first love is blues.
Knowing that he is normally a rock man,he like many others go back to blues.
All i will say is,if you are a Blues fan...buy it.
Jo reminds me of a modern day Johnny Winter(much, much underated guitar player by many)not only of electric but slide and acoustic.
I still have the fist vynil album i ever bought in 1968 by Johnny....still a stunning album!!...this will join ranks.
Along with great voice, stunning guitar some very nice harp playing on this CD.
Just wish i had that much talent when i was his age!!
Jo comes up trumps for sure....

I first heard Joe Bonamassa on Paul Jones' fabulous BBC2 program [thanks to the good ol' internet].
I ordered "You and Me" immediately and loved it. Craved more so decided to get "Blues Deluxe" sent over.
WEEEELLL...... I know comparisons at this level are a little meaningless but this album challenges my view that Stevie Ray Vaughan is as good as it gets.
Every track is a cracker. What impresses me about Joe is his versatility- there's the hard rockin' electric stuff, acoustic magic, sweet slide...
I mean, where does this guy end? He ends with "Mumbling Word", track 12, a luscious piece of classic blues with that lovely tinny Dobro sound [although the sleeve notes don't mention a Dobro, maybe it's that 1936 Gibson?].
Do yourself a favor, treat your ears to some of the most deluxe blues you'll ever hear!!!! 5 stars? Make it ten!
