So bad it's hysterical
Review date: 2006-11-09 Rating: 10 out of 10
This one will be short and sweet. I saw this film about twenty years ago, and instantly had to call my friends to make sure that none of them was missing it. This is the most stupid, incompetent, pointless, insultingly infantile movie I think I've ever seen. It is absolutely hilarious, even while you wince, and if you are a fan of bad movies then you MUST see it.

Prepare yourself for STARCRASH.......Review date: 2006-09-08 Rating: 6 out of 10Two former space smugglers are given the task to investigate the Haunted Stars for an evil count's battlestation. Thus starts STARCRASH, the 1979 Italian scfi movie riding on the shirt tails of STAR WARS.
Featuring former Bond girl, Caroline Munro, and the perma-grinned,Marjoe Gortner as the smugglers, Stella Star and Akton, and also starring a young David Hasselhoff in the role of the Emperor's son, STARCRASH has more in common with the FLASH GORDON serials of the Thirties than scfi of the Seventies; with its gaudy colours, the costumes and the not so special effects,
STARCRASH is quite a fun movie, as long as it's not taken too seriously.
This DVD from Substance/Jef films is a region 0, NTSC, widescreen release using a much travelled French print; all opening and closing credits are in French. The film itself is dirty, scratched and in places jumps; there are also missing frames causing characters to appear to leap when walking.
The Extras are: French trailer, which is better condition than the film, brief bios of the cast and a nominal photo gallery.
The film itself is also available on another DVD release as FEMALE SPACE INVADERS, available on Amazon, but is full screen, the image quite soft but has no damage to the print. So the choice is yours......
One last note. Many have pointed out that STAR WARS: Episode 2 appears to use the same basic storyline of STARCRASH. Lucas what were you thinking!!!!
