An enjoyable Simpson-fest.
Review date: 2007-12-11 Rating: 8 out of 10

This set includes a multitude of rather unique episodes of The Simpsons. Plus if you purchase from the marketplace sellers you can pick it up for a bargain.
All of the episodes included are excellent, and the DVD contains an adeqaute, if not extensive set of extras.
By far the best episode is the British visit of the Simpsons, altought they only visit England, negating Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Perhaps next time? Even so, this episode proves to be very entertaining in much the same way as the simpsons always is.
Sure, the Americans will never touch the brilliance of British comedy, and The Simpsons only serves to prove that, but it is still a vastly original and prominently enjoyable piece of animated comedy. If you like the Simpsons, but don't want an entire season, this set is for you.

Review date: 2005-07-25 Rating: 2 out of 10

this is like a abortus dvd. 4 episodes with no correlation between, and you'll feel cheated when on cover there's a eiffel tower but that episode does not appear on the disc.
extras seem very little, a poor animation of an insert.

Extremely funny set of 4 episodes.
Review date: 2005-06-14 Rating: 10 out of 10

I bought the first four seasons of the simpsons on DVD quite recently and have already watched them almost to exhaustion, and I'm glad that some recent episodes have been released. This dvd has 4 episodes, and they are from the following seasons; 1999, 2001, 2002, and 2003. The look of the cartoon is the same in them all, and seems to have been the same ever since about season 3 in the early 90s. All four episodes on this DVD are very funny but my personal favourite is "30 Minutes Over Tokyo". The Simpsons visit Japan and Homer's crude American behaviour in this polite country is very funny. "Simpson Safari" is dedicated to the supermarket bagboys of America, who go on a strike due to very poor treatment by customers, and Homer is of course responsible for pushing them over the edge into a strike. For some reason or another which you will find out, the Simpsons end up in Africa. In "Blame It On Lisa", the Simpsons go to Brazil and Homer gets kidnapped, and finally in "The Regina Monologues", the Simpsons go to England. This is a very funny episode with hyperbolic cliches of England and English people. Overall I recommend this DVD wholly to Simpsons fans; you are very unlikely to be disappointed with these episodes. It will be a long time before they are available in series box sets too because these are recent episodes.

The Simpsons say D'OH!
Review date: 2005-04-05 Rating: 6 out of 10

Unusually for The Simpsons, the first two episodes on this box-set - "Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo" and "Simpson Safari" - are sub-par, and are perhaps the two weakest episodes avaliable so far on DVD.

Thankfully, things perk up in the third episode, "Blame It on Lisa", an enjoyable romp in Brazil, and is one of the Simpsons' best vacation episodes to date, and certainly the best available on DVD.

Sadly, quality starts to creep back down in the final, England-based episode "The Regina Monologues", which has some alright sketches, but ultimately cannot save the episode as a whole.

So, in all, one truly good episode isn't really worth the pricetag on this DVD. You'll appreciate The Simpsons more if you spend your money on one of the five Season boxsets - 20+ episodes (on seasons 2 and beyond), most (if not all) of great quality, and with nice special features.
