Farewell Lady Jane....
Review date: 2005-07-30 Rating: 10 out of 10

This series of Lovejoy says farewells to original cast members. First Lady Jane departs. Her marriage with Alex clearly at an end, she must leave Felsham Hall and put it up for sale. Charlie plays a bigger role in these episodes, buying Felsham Hall and becoming Lovejoy's landlord (again - he was in the early episodes). Caroline Langrishe is brought in to fill "Jane's" avoid, but doesn't quite pull it off. This permit more of a love interest between Lovejoy and Charlotte, head of an auction house. Shortly after Jane's departure, they brought in Beth, a darling character played by Diane Parish, but we soon see she is a "replacement" for Eric. Gone is the Eric-Lovejoy frustrated banter that was a joy to watch. Beth is adorable and funny, but Lovejoy has to be nice to her.
Episodes include:

Pig in a Poke
Who Is the Fairest of Them All? (Jane's Departure)
A Going Concern (where Charlie buys Felsham hall)
The Kakiemon Tiger
Three Men and A Brittle Lady
Ducking and Diving
Stones of Destiny (Filmed at Callanish in Scotland)
Poetic License
The Peking Gun
Goose Bumps
Swings and Roundabouts
Never Judge a Book by Its Cover
The Price of Fish
The Lost Colony (Movie length filmed mostly in the US)

Still great episodes, but you feel the series sadly imploding by the loss of the core members.
