The fourth and final series of the ITV classic is shorter than the previous three having only 26 half hour episodes instead of 39. It was filmed around 1959 after a slight break from the third series. Still pretty entertaining but there is a fair amount of repetition from the earlier years. Alan Wheatley leaves as the Sheriff of Nottingham earlier in the series and is replaced by John Arnatt giving a perofrmance of oily suavity as the new Deputy Sheriff. As with earlier box sets the DVD has good crisp black and white pictures but sometimes indistinct sound. There are no extras.
