Who wants to be a millionare
Review date: 2007-03-10 Rating: 8 out of 10

I know this interactive dvd version has been out since 2004 but i felt i needed to put my view on this game after reading some disappointing reviews on here.
Maybe i am easy to please but out of all the interactive dvd's available 'who wants to be a millionare' is right up there with the best of them in my opinion.
Each Christmas no matter what other games we have lying around, this particular dvd never fails to make an appearance.
Good fun for all the family, although the kids will prefer the later versions that feature the adult and junior options, but this version is still deserving of more than the one or two stars some reviewers have given.

It might be a tad slow, but who cares, life is ....
Review date: 2005-12-23 Rating: 10 out of 10

.... fast and furious, so this game allows you to achieve family entertainment at a nice, gentle, relaxing pace. I am sorry but i do not agree with the 1 and 2 star reviews, i think this game is brilliant. I like the slow pace between multi players and questions and did not find that Chris T voice was not in sync with his mouth. It is just like the real thing and i can not wait to play it at Christmas with the in laws. It will keep them entertained and stop the normal boring conversation being repeated over and over again or the deadly silence that appears to go on forever. These interactive DVD's are fanastic.

The Game freezes periodically with no way of moving forward.
The best feature is Chris Tarrant mouth moves and then several seconds later the sound kicks in. Quite amusing the first time round but doesn't help an already struggling Game.
The Questions after only a few games started repeating.
Don't think the frame rate plays right, some clips seem to play at different speeds?
Have tried this DVD on a number of different players and all show the above problems.

Technical Nightmare...

Unfortunately, having bought this DVD for some family entertainment over Christmas, we had to satisfy ourselves with just staring at the box instead. You see, Chris would 'freeze' on the second question and stay like that for hours, as though the 'wind' had finally got him.

Ah, I hear you cry, then it's obviously something to do with your DVD player being faulty, yes? Er, no. You see, my mother had also purchased the same DVD and so we had a 'spare' copy to try. Same thing happened. And, when I tried both on my own DVD player, they both froze in the same spot as before.

So far I have tried four separate DVD players and the same thing happens. Software fault? Perhaps. Deflated Christmas fun? Definitely.

Don't!

Quite frankly I thought this was a waste of money.
The editing is awful.
The whole play scenario I found slow, boring and cumbersome.
By the second evening of play the questions were, on several occasions, being repeated.
The sound quality is such that it can be very difficult to tell the difference between a 'B' and a 'D' on the phone a friend.
If you choose to 'take the money' you don't get to see what the correct answer is.
Sorry, but that is my opinion.
