Ultimate Fame is an album which I really enjoyed listening to. All the tracks featured in the album are featured in the hit musical movie Fame, TV series and subsequent productions of Fame. The tracks include Fame, Out Here On My Own, Starmaker, Hi-Fidelity and many more. The Fame concept is based on a group of students in performing arts school and the album is a real contribution how hard they worked to achieve stardom. The tracks are well sung and a great joy to listen to.
Fame is a popular series during the 1980's and to be able to relight those memories of those days is a real delight. The Ultimate Fame is an album I desperately wanted after watching the movie and the TV series and extremely pleased with the results. This music is different from what I normally listen to, as it makes you feel good and instils confidence in yourself. It is music of a different perspective if you get what I mean.
If you are fan of Fame, then this is the album to purchase and relight the memories. You will not get any better album of Fame in the retail market. This is your Ultimate Fame.

Fame`s biggest fan from long, long ago.............

I loved Fame from the very word `go` and have all five of the BBC vinyl albums tucked safely away in my collection. For years I longed for the albums to be released on cd but up to now only the first one `The Kids From Fame` has been put out on compact disc. To find this album out on cd was a great bonus as there are several tracks from the other as-yet-unreleased albums. To me Fame will always be Debbie Allen, Valerie Landsburg, Lori Singer, Erica Gimpel, Lee Curreri, Carlo Imperato and the late Gene Anthony Ray, and you can hear all their voices on this cd. The title track from the movie Fame sung by Irene Cara is a must but I wish the version sung by Erica Gimpel from the tv show would have been put on as a bonus track. Starmaker and Hi-Fidelity are brilliant, fantastic songs and the charm of Lori Singer`s unsteady, untrained vocals on It`s Gonna Be A Long Night has always held a special place in my heart. It`s such a pretty, heartfelt song (I disagree with those people who put the song down purely because Lori Singer should have `stuck to playing the cello`!) Desdemona and Life Is A Celebration are real quality, high performance songs are you just have to get up and `get down` with the infectiousness of the drama of both songs! I have to say I`m not all that keen on the four songs included from the Stage Show and would rather more from the series had been included instead. My choices would have been Fame (by Erica Gimpel), Rock `n` Roll World from the 3rd series, the wonderful Beautiful Dreamer by Valerie Landsburg and the dance number Body Language by Debbie Allen. All in all though its a wonderful cd and a real MUST for ALL Fame fans. The three bonus tracks at the end Friday Night, Murphy Blues and False Alarm leave you longing for an Ultimate Fame Volume Two cd!!

From the classic musical, this version contains a long of songs I have not heard previously. Very good classics but no updated songs.

As a fan of the TV series many years ago this brought back some wonderful memories.
The film was rubbish but I have to say that the stage show is incredible although the music is not quite as up beat as the TV show was.

Leg warmers at the ready!

Who would have guessed that 23 years after the film version of FAME was released kids around the world young and old would still be leaping into the splits mid-air singing how they were going to live forever?! Fame has always been one of my all time favourites along with Grease and the release of this album is just great. In fact you could have a whole party just playing this cd! Who can forget the greatness of 'High fidelity' and the sadness and singalong chorus of 'Star maker' and the sheer fabulousness of the title track 'Fame'. So dig out those sweat bands and leg warmers, find a street to dance down and buy this cd!!!!
