Erin Gray is worth watching
Review date: 2007-06-24 Rating: 10 out of 10

One aspect of the series is Erin Gray, the co-star of this television program who played Wilma Deering. She is definately eye candy and I recommend the series if not for the clever plots (which reminds you of Star Trek), but for Erin Gray in spandex. Even better, I get to meet Gray personally at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention in Aberdeen, Maryland in September. I plan to get an autograph and have my picture taken with her. If you are not familiar with this talented and beautiful actress, this TV series shows just how good she is. Amazon.com has a great price so grab your copy today.

'Spacetastic fun' from the 1970's.
Review date: 2005-03-05 Rating: 8 out of 10

Here at last is the full two seasons on Buck Rogers in the 25th century.Universal have done a fine job releasing this set even though it has taken them years to do it.The picture quality is first rate with rich deep colours and brilliant audio. The first series is set mainly on Earth with Wilma and Buck fighting off many alien evils. This is a very camp fun series and on quite a low budget but none the worse for it.I have noticed a massive re-use of Battlestar Galactica sets mostly on the second series. There are the Corridors which feature on Ardala's ship and then again on the searcher from Galactica. And even more bizzare is the flight deck on searcher which was the control room from the Sub Cetacean from 'The man from Atlantis' !.
There are no extras included on this set which is a great pity , but there is a nice booklet included.I like the outer plastic slipcase which gives it that quality touch. If your buying from the UK make sure you have a multi-region player. And also there is a hefty Customs import duty to pay ! so this remember before purchase.I would recommend this set over the UK issue as you have the complete set in a better quality package.

buck rogers in the 25th century
Review date: 2004-12-03 Rating: 8 out of 10

Originally transmitted by LONDON WEEKEND TELEVISION 24 years ago and on BBC2 18 years ago for those of us who are 30+ to recall a time when television was worth watching despite only having 3 or 4 channels to choose from.however, this show although still worth watching is showing it's age with dodgy model shots, in one example buck rogers is flying a shuttle in one shot that changes shape in the next, the episode testimony of a traiter is one example of the visual discontinuity. But apart from this it's still fun to watch. the series highlights are plot to kill a city, planet of the slave girls, which starred jack palance (who also starred in the first batman film as carl grissom), flight of the war witch and the pilot movie which was included in the ntsc version. those who bought the pal version have got the televised version of said episode. I can only recommend the ntsc version partly due to it's presentation the pal version is rather plain and there's only the first 24 episodes included which is why the ntsc version is the best, with 5 double sided double layer discs it would be equivallant to ten single sided double layer discs if the pal version included all 35 episodes. My disappointment is that unlike the battlestar galactica boxset the sound track wasn't remastered for 5.1 and no bonus features despite the space available on disc 5 side b which only had one episode and thus my four star rating. If you are thinking of buying this dvd collection buy the ntsc version instead of the pal version, you won't be too disappointed.
