Bucky O'Hare: it's still a great show

I must admit to being a little disappointed that not much effort appears to have gone into making this DVD: the character profiles, though interesting, are extremely poorly written and the synopsis on the cover is frankly inaccurate. Oh yeah, and at least on my copy, Discs 1 and 2 are incorrectly labelled. But, you're not considering buying the DVD for any of that, right? If you enjoyed the cartoon, it's all here, and when I sat down to watch the series again after many years, I wasn't disappointed. I say again, if you like the show, buy it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the quality, and I agree that there is no problem with the show betraying its age. On the contrary, I think it's spookily prophetic...

Fantastic 80's Fun!!

I was flicking through an 80's cartoon website, reliving the memories of my child hood when I came across this little gem. I remember coming home from school, switching on the tv and sitting down to watch Philip Schofield in the broom cupboard and Captain Bucky O'Hare.

Along with Dogtanian and the Muskerhounds, 80 Days around the world with Willy Fog and The Mysterious Cities of Gold, Bucky O'Hare is one of the best! Intelligent writing (for the adults as well as the kids I think)and great fun, is it just me or can you not help but notice its connections with Star Wars?

The Toad planet looks uncannily like the death star and Complex (a mechanical toad on a computer screen) bears a slight resemblance to Darth Vader himself! Then you have Bucky (Han Solo?), Willy (Luke Skywalker?), Jenny (Princess Leia), Bruce/ Bruiser the Berserker Baboons (Chewbacca), Blinky (R2D2) I'm sure there are other likenesses which I won't go into. This for me only enhances the cartoons status as I love Star wars too.

The Dvd itself is fantastic, as someone has already said the sound and picture quality do not give away its age at all! There are character profiles, a list of the charactor actors and if you put the extras disk into your PC you get scripts etc too.
If like me you are a fan of this fantastic little cartoon you can't go wrong with this Dvd, I couldn't remember seeing the final episode so its great to wrap it all up after all these years! A brilliant 10/10.
