Amazon.co.uk Review
Opposites are forced to attract in Along Came Polly. Ben Stiller is a newlywed insurance risk-assessment analyst whose wife (Debra Messing, in a throwaway role) betrays him on their honeymoon. His uptight, play-it-safe lifestyle (which includes acute aversion to germs and irritable bowel syndrome) makes him seemingly incompatible with the spontaneous, free-spirited Polly (Jennifer Aniston), but writer-director John Hamburg (whose writing credits include the previous Stiller hits Meet the Parents and Zoolander) is determined to give them at least the appearance of romantic potential. No such luck. You will, however, get a few laughs from supporting players Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bryan Brown, and Alec Baldwin. The film is a dose of featherweight fluff that could've been better and could've been worse--surely no pairing of Stiller and Aniston can be a complete waste of time, right? Faint praise, perhaps, but fans of these mainstream funny-folk will enjoy this movie as a lazy weekend distraction. --Jeff Shannon
Will they get together? Who cares?!

Completely dissapointed with this film.
The characters were unexciting and unbelievable.
Apparently it was was meant to be funny, well it wasn't.
I wouldn't waste my time watching it to be honest.

good Review date: 2008-01-29 Rating: 6 out of 10Along came polly is very slapstick in nature, that cant be ignored but it handles it well and can be classified as a good comedy first and foremost, secondly it has a romantic underbelly which will appeal to some while others find it a little too sickly but nonetheless this is good stuff.
The film belongs to ben stiller,he hams it up as a man who loses his wife on his honeymoon and is just so nice about it almost,he has a friend played with a real sense of brilliance by philip seymour hoffman who also brings laughs and an equal sense of humilation to his character, jenny aninston plays the free wheelin love interest who follows no rules while stiller is a man that accesses risks in his everyday life so they make for a somewhat forced couple but interesting at the same time.
The film contains some good laughs and a cringe worthy stance as well but when the sust settles this film has no real harm attached and should pass some time with few regrets,3 stars.Appeals to some... not to othersReview date: 2007-04-01 Rating: 6 out of 10It was ok- hence the three stars. Typical romantic comedy in that it was funny in places, with a gorgeous leading female and the ultimately predictable ending, but that's why we watch them!
If you're a fan of Ben Stiller's OTT and somewhat slapstick performances you'll love it - *Look out for the smelly bathroom scene!*
If, however, you prefer comedy to be bit more subtle and sharp, to be honest this probably isn't the film for you.
It's on par with "Meet The Parents" and I enjoyed watching it, just as entertainment for a few hours, but I think there are better romantic comedies out there! Jennifer Anniston I think, is better in "The Break Up" for J.A. fans.
Summed up, I would watch it on Sky Movies as light-hearted entertainment, but having watched it once, I don't think I'd buy the DVD (unless Ben Stiller rocks your world!)Absolutely hilarousReview date: 2006-06-26 Rating: 10 out of 10Ben Stiller made me laugh from the begining to the end of this dvd.Every character he meets is a complete nightmare for him and how he reacts and interacts with them is a joy to behold.
Jennifer Aniston puts in a good performance as Polly who lives for today and doesn't care about tomorrow and Bryan Brown is
fabulous as the daredevil businessman who wants Stiller to
get him Life Insurance.A gem of a movie.Booo!Review date: 2006-03-27 Rating: 4 out of 10I can't put my finger on why this was such a disappointment to me, but it was. After watching a few trailers I felt I had to see it for myself as it looked so witty, quaint, charming and enjoyable. I was wrong. Although humorous in parts it only just cracked a smile, which is a shame because it could have been better. I love Jennifer Aniston and Ben stiller and I can't explain why this combination didn't work, but it really didn't. Perhaps it was the chemistry between them? Or maybe it was the weak storyline and bad jokes? It is worth a rental, but please don't waste money on buying this DVD or it will be used as your coaster (as is mine)
