If you want to learn to dance useless.If you want an exercise video, excellent.
Clearly shows on the front dancing as a couple,no signs of it on the video,hence does not show turns or correct holds.

We were anxiously waiting to try this dvd (i even put on my dancing shoes) but were rather disappointed when the dvd ended and there was not much. She does not even introduce dancing with a partner so you can learn how to put together the male and female steps!! Salsa is about dancing with a partner and this one does not show anything about this! Even though its for beginners. Music could have been changed too. It became too boring after listening to the same beats over and over. Definitely not worth the money.

I have been doing Salsa for a few months, and this was good for re-inforcing the basic steps and builds them up nicely. The only criticsm that I would have is that the pace of the music was rather quick, especially for beginners but it does give you a good work out!!
If you already know the basic steps it is probably not worth getting this DVD.

I'd been going to lessons for a number of weeks before I got this and while I had progressed a bit further in class, I still found this to be a great DVD for practice at home and find it a far more enjoyable alternative to the conventional fitness DVD.
I also disagree with the one star review (sorry!), I thought the progression was at a good pace for a beginner.
The only criticism I would have is that I would have preferred a more varied soundtrack, the first few steps are done to the same music and it became pretty tedious after a while.

I've just used this dvd for the first time and thought it was fantastic. I didn't want to stop at the end. I felt that I'd had some very good exercise (which was a bit of a surprise) and confident enough to have a go in public should the opportunity arise. I'll be using this dvd a lot just for a fun bit of exercise. It's very easy to follow and the instructor has a pleasant easy manner.
