Set in real & gritty part of dublin, where you won't find many green fields and fiddlers. You'll know within 5 mins whether you will like this film or not. The film is about the lives of several dubliners who come together as part of a daring bank heist. The humour is dark and witty, and language is course. If your expecting Irish 'Craic' you will be dissappointed, but if your looking for a black comedy, with a few OhMyGod moments, then this is the film for you! Colin farrell's best role, but Colm Meaney steals the show.

minus infinity stars!!!

Horrible, horrible piece of film - the entire movie features the kind of people which give Dublin a bad name and the kind of children who really should be in detention centres.

Trying, but miserably failing, to copy Trainspotting, this film has nothing going for it - the script, which would have been better had it been improvised by a group of monkies - the cast, which would have been improved had it been the monkies - the setting - it's not like any part of Dublin that anyone would actually want to see.

Want a well made movie about the downside of urban existance? Get Trainspotting. Want a well made movie about the upside of big town living? Get Ámelie. Want a pile of stinking manure which recalls its odour everytime you see its box? Get Intermission.

Absolutely appalling.

Intermission? Interminable, more like!

If Al Qaeda suspects were made to sit through this film I've no doubt Amnesty would object that it was a form of mental torture. After ten minutes of wobberley camcorder docusoap film I was ready to switch off, but persevered for another 20 minutes or so.

OK - the only reason for getting this film out was to see the gorgeous Kelly Macdonald. But even she got herself undressed under the bedclothes! And female fans of Farrel may be put out that the main (?) character is an even prettier boy than Colin :o). The only interesting character was the wayward cop, who initially I had assumed was the local gangland boss, so it was a let down to find out his actual occupation. Hmm. Bit stereotyped, methinks.

Others have commented on the 'strong' language, as Channel 4 euphemistically calls it. On the whole I think here it is acceptable, but objectionable in front of children, even if actors. And I consider swearing AT children - in film or in real life - a form of abuse (certainly exploitation).

Well, if you're a fan of soaps with a lot of violence and swearing, you might enjoy. For anyone else, why waste two hours of your life?
