I have been using this dvd for a few months now. There are two programmes totalling around 35mins. Moves are well explained and easy to follow, good for beginners and those with a bit more experience. My only quibble, and the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is that, in the second workout, on a couple of occasions when Lucy says, 'try to repeat this (move) between 5 and 10 times' she barely gives enough time to do 2 or 3. In spite of this I wpuld still recommend it.

Pilates for Back and PostureReview date: 2007-12-31 Rating: 10 out of 10What can I say! Similar to other reviewers I too had been paying out alot of money to chiropractors and the like. So, based on the other reviewers' rave reviews I thought I'd give this a go. It's so low key that much of the time you don't feel like you're doing much at all - but clearly something happens deep within! After months of persistant lower back pain I know I can do the 30 minute (totally unstrenuous) routine and get instant and lasting relief. If only I had time to do it say 2-3 times a week I think my back pain days would be firmly behind me. Can't recommend it more strongly - give it a go!!Its ok.Review date: 2007-01-31 Rating: 6 out of 10I have done some Pilates classes before & found them great as I had previous back problems with weak lower back & stomach muscles. So I thought I would try to do more at home as my back was starting to get sore again.
I found the DVD ok, I did feel that leg, core & side muscles were sore so the exercises were working. But I found my middle back a bit more achy & sore, which isn't a good sign. Although maybe I wasn't holding in my TA enough or else its just my back thats the problem.
Some of the leg exercises I hadn't done before so I wasn't sure if I was doing them properly. The breathing is very important and I felt she could have instructed you more on when to breath in or out.
Overall I think it was ok.Pilates for Back and PostureReview date: 2006-10-18 Rating: 10 out of 10I have a collpased lower disc which has caused chronic lower back pain and severe nerve pain in the groin for the last 9 months. I have tried physio, injections in the spine, swimming and reflexology, though all have been very painful, expensive and have not cured my condition. I have been using this DVD daily for the last 8 weeks and this has vastly improved my condition. Initially, I found it hard to perform the breathing techniques but once these are mastered, the exercises are easy. I have now memorised the DVD and therefore I am able to perform the exercises without the DVD in approximately 25 minutes, anywhere in the house. Could be difficult for beginnersReview date: 2006-08-14 Rating: 6 out of 10In my opinion Ms Lloyd-Barker describes the technique in a way that would be difficult for a beginner to practise. For instance, in several places in the DVD she instructs the viewer to engage the TA (transverse abdominals) at about 30%. If you haven't previously had any personal instruction, it would be very difficult to judge what is or isn't 30%. I have had lessons in the past from reputable teachers and they have never spoken in terms of percentages when instructing pupils to engage this group of muscles. Having said that, I did get relief from a persistent nagging backache at night after one session.
