POOR BETTE DAVIES
Review date: 2010-08-14 Rating: 2 out of 10
THIS FILM IS FILLED WITH THE MOST APPALLING ALL AMERICAN STAGE SCHOOL ''ACTORS''. POOR BETTE DAVIES! A GENIUS SCREEN ICON LUMBERED WITH SUCH HIDEOUS NONSENSE. CRINGINGING TO WATCH AND NOT BECAUSE YOU ARE SCARED. IT'S ACTUALLY EMBARRASSING SO DON'T INVITE YOUR CHILDRENS FREINDS AROUND TO WATCH IT. THAT IS UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO BE BILLY AND JENNY NO MATES.

A watcher in the woods DVDReview date: 2010-04-22 Rating: 10 out of 10Excellent film hadn't seen it in years.
Delivery of item was quick.Terrified my children!Review date: 2010-02-04 Rating: 8 out of 10I don't think you can go all that wrong with a Disney film , you know that it will be family friendly and that kids of any age will enjoy it, er wrong if this didn't say Disney on the front I would not have guessed, this is not your usual suguary fare this really was scary and I ended up with both my children (aged 5 and 7) refusing to sleep in their own beds. That said however I did like the film and maybe for families with children over the age of 10 or 11 this would be a good choice, maybe an introduction to horror films when they are a bit to young to watch any real ones.Okay, But No MasterpieceReview date: 2009-07-06 Rating: 6 out of 10Despite its cult status, this should have been so much better, although it's enjoyable enough. The original ending does nothing to improve the film - so don't worry if you have not seen it. Bette Davis is good and so are the children - although Carol Baker as the mother, looks a little lost at times. The scenes where the older generation ( as children) play rather strange games in the wood is reminiscent of "Blood on Satan's Claw" ( without the X rated content !) and like the Hammer production "The Witches" ( aka The Devil's Own) and "The Wicker Man" provides an interesting take on rural customs and folk lore. However, at the end of the day, production problems resulted in a rather second rate movie which really does not work.Watcer in the WoodsReview date: 2008-04-29 Rating: 10 out of 10I loved this film as a child and looked for it a few years ago but had no luck! Was so glad I was found it on here! It scared me so much when I younger and was shocked to see thay it was made by Disney! haha! Me and my 11 year old daughter watched it last night and it still made me jump, I think the music makes it more scarey that what it is but it certainly made my daughter jump too! A much loved film!
