Amazon.co.uk Review
Wild Things is the kind of lurid, trashy thriller that you'll either dive into with unabashed pleasure or turn away from in prudish disgust; it's entirely your choice, but we suggest the former option since it's obviously much more fun. The plot's so convoluted it's hardly worth describing, except to say that it's set in humid Florida and involves a respected high school teacher (Matt Dillon--yes, Matt Dillon as a teacher!) who is faced with accusations of rape by a student (Denise Richards, from Starship Troopers) who had been giving him the kind of attention most people would consider improper for such a "nice" young lady. Another student (Neve Campbell) raises a similar charge against the teacher, and that's when a police officer (Kevin Bacon) begins to investigate the allegations. Just when you think the movie's gone overboard with its shameless sex and absurdly twisted plot, in drops Bill Murray as an unscrupulous lawyer (of course) to spice things up with insurance scams and welcomed comic relief. As directed by John McNaughton (who has a way of making just the right moves with this kind of film noir melodrama), Wild Things is a bona fide guilty pleasure--the kind of movie you may be ashamed to enjoy, but what the heck, you'll enjoy it anyway. --Jeff Shannon
Sexy classy thriller!

I have heard of this film for quite a while now but have only just got round to watching it. I have to say it is a lot better than expected. The acting is good, good story and the plot has more twists than a pizzeria pepper pot!!!
Probably more well know for the scenes where Denise Richards and Neve Campbell kiss and the sex scene, but the rest of the film is much better than most thrillers with a twist, featuring a strong cast including Kevin Bacon. However you do need your brain in gear towards the end of the film to keep up with all the plot twists.........while the credits roll a few scenes are show as if to try and untangle some of the plotlines. Overall a great sexy thriller with a great ending no one could see coming....but you just feel some earlier scenes don't add up once you see the later plot revelations? ....but good fun all the same!

sexy sleezy wild clever dangerousReview date: 2005-07-15 Rating: 8 out of 10THIS FILM IS VERY MUCH ABOUT THE PYSHICAL ATTRACTIONS OF MATT DILLON THE BLUE BAY TEACHER DENISE RICHARDS AND NEVE CAMBALL. THEY DEVISE A CLEVER PLOT IN WHICH TO CON DENISE'S PARENTS OUT OF THEIR MONEY. BILL MURRAY IS HULIROUS INNIT. KEVIN BACON PLAYS A COP WHO IS OUT TO CATCH THEM OUT BUT IS WOUND UP IN THE PLOT TO WHICH TAKES A BIT OF GETTING USED TO AT FIRST. THERE'S ALOT OF BACKSTABBING BETRAYAL AND EROTIC MOMMENTS AND HAS A CLEVER AND DISTRACTING ENDING. IT CAN BE ALITTLE CONFUSING BUT AFTER U CAN GET OVER THE INITAL POINT OF WHAT IS GOING ON WITHIN THE PLOT U CAN REALLY ENJOY IT. SEXY AND SMART THIS FILM IS WORTH A LOOKJust wild about itReview date: 2004-06-11 Rating: 10 out of 10Wild Things is great. It has some great comedy, a nice series of sound themes, nice eye candy for the lads and a good laugh for the lasses, and best of all, the only plot I've seen which makes it past the quadruple-cross. Not highly realistic, but it's TV, right?
Denise Richards is the daughter of THE top society family in Blue Bay, Florida. Neve Campbell is a piece of white trash who lives in a broken down caravan in mangroves and looks like a Goth. Matt Dillon is the up and coming star teacher at Blue Bay High and Kevin Bacon is the dodgy cop in the Blue Bay Police Department.
On first sight, Kelly (Richards) loathes Suzie (Campbell) and is intent on seducing her cute teacher Sam (Dillon), and Suzie loathes Detective Duquette (Bacon), for reasons that we don't find out until later. It's only after it becomes apparent how very close Suzie, Kelly and Sam actually are that the plot begins to thicken - and I won't spoil the fun.
It's a thriller that is so trashy, kinky and convoluted that you watch it all the way through, go "Eh?" and have another go - let's say it's the ONLY film I know where there are so many double-crosses that they had to tack an explanatory out-take on the end! Good to watch any time, with any company except possibly your granny, and some lovely sunny scenery for those who really miss the sun through ten months of the year!Ludicrous, really...but watch it all the sameReview date: 2004-05-21 Rating: 4 out of 10What is there to say about this film? It's so bad it's worth watching, only once though . Woefully bad performances from the cast, especially Matt Dillon. I thought it was hilarious how every single woman in town were ready to throw themselves at him. He's a bit more believable at the beginning as the strait-laced schoolteacher than as the psycho though. As for Kevin Bacon, this is definitely not one of his better performances and is there really any need for the shower scene? I think not. Neve Campbell's okay as the poor white-trash type but she always plays her parts too similar to her character in Scream. Denise Richards...she's only there to provide the eye candy though I will admit 'that scene' is pretty good. The plot twists become a bit ridiculous and all I'll say is there is no way they could have pulled it off. Anyway, if you come across it, watch it to pass the time as it's quite good for a laugh. I doubt you'd watch it again though!Clever, cool and...SEXYReview date: 2004-02-09 Rating: 10 out of 10Cool, classy, stylish...need i say more? Well, why not...Rarely is a film worthy of 5 stars - this probably isn't but it certainly is quality.
Love this film. It's just great.
Great cast, great plot, great twist...good script
A film that has both Neve Campbell and Denise Richards in it can't be bad, especially when they have a very 'close' relationship in it. The ladies are ably assisted by Kevin Bacon and Matt Dillon who are both quality geezers.
Certainly unpredictable and well worth watching...but enough about the plot, the ladies are more important
