Terri works at a bank as a computer operator and spends her days trying to annoy her spiritless boss and get russian television on her monitor. One day, a secret agent trapped in Eastern Europe taps into Terri's computer and asks her to do a series of amusing and dangerous tasks to help him get out of the country he is stranded in.

One of the most memorable scenes in the entire film is when she is injected with truth serum and ends up confronting her boss in the office. Very clever humour and a script that twists and turns and keeps you right up to the very end sequence.

Well worth watching - I recently brought the DVD to add to my collection and although there aren't any special features - the film is excellent quality, there are no obvious cuts and Terri's language hasn't been muted. (anyone who has seen the film on TV should know the notorious swearing in the phone booth has been bleeped out)

Terri Dolittle is a bank terminal operator in down town New York, and"Jack" is a spy stuck in Russia, desperate to get out. But what can thesetwo "opposites attracts" people have in common? They both use the bank'sterminals to communicate, and I think Terri feels that sometimes it's notworth the hassle.
Being shot at, nearly kidnapped, carted away in a telephone booth, anddrugged are starting to take their toll on Terri, as she battles furiouslyto find someone to help Jack out. Her erratic behaviour really annoys herboss, and her friend feels she should be dating. But things are badenough for Terri, her new coleauge turns out to be someone else, andJack's so called friends are really enemies.
This is a great film for everyone - pleanty of humour - as it's one ofWoopi's many talents. There's also quite a lot of thrilling moments: inher house, at Jack's and when we all thought Terri was going to die in theriver. OK, so it does look a bit dated now, it's still a cracker. Thetechnology used was quite radical at the time, but most people will findit laughable now. The supporting stars are great and the screenplay isgood. Soundtrack is a bit minimal, but when it does kick in it's quiteenjoyable.
Putting it as a budget release is a godsend, but the lack of extras israther disapointing to say the least. I would have liked director'scommentries and a few traillers for starters.
Good movie, and will probably live the test of time.
