This film hurt me!
Review date: 2008-07-17 Rating: 2 out of 10
You know when you're drunk and talking drivvle with your friends. You discuss subjects like the children's progammes you used to watch, school teachers you had, the best of some things and the worst of others. This film, which I saw many years ago, yet still haunts my memory is my answer to the question, "What's the worst film you've ever seen?" My answer is always, and I mean always, 'Waiting to exhale, with Whitney Houston'. That is three hours of my life that I want back. I rest my case.

Loved It. Review date: 2008-06-21 Rating: 10 out of 10I think this is a excellent movie, ok i'll admit it i was drawn to it because of the fact that Whitney was staring in it, but having said that i was pleasantly surprised by the films charm, the film follows four women, each one being in a very different situation in their personal life, and of course as movies go the troubles they experience eventually reach a conclusion.
I thought the atmosphere in the film was fantastic as well as the cast, and what also made the film even more fantastic was the music, the music was great, i am really glad i watched this film, it was well worth it.
Once was enoughReview date: 2008-02-08 Rating: 4 out of 10Having read the reviews and synopsis about this film and looking at the cast line up, I was expecting to see a really good, emotional film with excellent character exploration. Well that's not what I saw, this film did not flow well, it did not move between the insights into the 4 different womens lives in a way you became engaged or involved. Alot of time was wasted with clips of Robin in bed with different men, and you were left feeling her character should have been removed from the whole film and more screen time given to the other characters. I felt the film was just filled with cliched stereotypes, Angela Basset who I normally like, I just found her character over the top in the way she handles her husband leaving her for another woman, and just adds to that enormous catalogue of performances where you see the woman burn her husbands clothes, be bitter and try and get revenge. There were times when it was lightly touched on about how a woman feels after a long marriage, having children and always being there for her husband and the feelings she has when she is left for another woman, that feeling I gave you everything and feeling cheated and that you sacrificed so much for so long because you loved this person believing it was forever, however rather than exploring this more her character is given more scenes about her being angry and going on the shag other women's husband, which in effect made her no better than her husband. This film is watchable, but for me once was quite enough and I feel my money was wasted buying it.Possibly the worst film in the worldReview date: 2005-06-02 Rating: 2 out of 10I had the misfortune of watching this film last night. I cannot remember having watched a film so bad (not even Doc Hollywood!) There is no buliding of characters, no background history of the characters or of their friendship so it is impossible to identify with them. The storyline is non existant the whole film is a series of dis-jointed scenes that are just painful to watch. I usually enjoy a good girly friendship film (Steel Magnolias, beaches etc) but this film really is the pits please don't waste 118 mins of your life on it!!!!BRILLIANT FILM!Review date: 2001-08-24 Rating: 10 out of 10There's only one problem with this film, everytime I watch it I end up crying. I can really identity with one character in particular and her sufferings. They don't make films that can really touch you everytime you watch it, but this can. Absolutely brilliant. I've read the book and that is also excellent - maybe the film is a little inferior to the book, but nevertheless it is excellent in its own right.
