Synopsis
This animated series goes to the roots of the classic comic book X-MEN, capturing the mutants in their youth. Much like the series SMALLVILLE, the teens who would become the heroes and villains of a comic book world are all attending the same high school, creating a mixed student body with otherworldly conflicts that go beyond the typical high school hijinx. This collection includes episodes 10-13 of the series. Included is the wild two-part episode "The Cauldron" pitting mutants against each other in a bout for supremacy. Additional episodes are "Shadowed Past" and "Grim Reminder."
Xcellent!

I remember buying this last year from Asda, as I was in the mood for the old 90s cartoon series , since the recent last film, X-Men 3: The Last Stand. However, I didn't see any of the 90s one so I got this instead - haven't seen any previous episodes and picked up this in the supermarket cause it was only one I saw.
I did eventually watch all 4 episodes after I remembered after the hectic summer I had and I really enjoyed it.
Depicting the X-Men as teens, is different from the 90s one I recall, but this one it does work. The voice acting is top-notch and the animation is impressive too.
Because this is a cartoon series, it allows for each character to be developed more substansially than the films, so that's a bonus.
The introductions before each episode and the interview with the voices behind their animated characters in 'The X-Men Unmasked' is really informative and fun to watch.
I loved it, and I'll be buying the remaining volumes.
