Synopsis
Re-live the 2003 Pop Idol competition, all its highs and lows, the tears and the joy. See again, some say it's the best bit, the often hilarious auditions and then the five nerve-wracking week journey for the top 50 singers down to a hot top ten. Not forgetting the unexpected reprieve for a couple of contestants. Each week the live stage-shows saw one of the warbling contestants voted off if they failed to meet the viewers' grade until the final where the winner is decided, 2003's one and only Pop Idol.

I bought this DVD a couple of weeks ago and got it yesterday.
It includes bits from every level of the show and mostly from the auditions.
But, You can't tell who won!
You can hardly find any Michelle McManus -full- performances!
You don't get all of them as well - 10 sec. of "All By Myself", 10 sec. of "Your song", half of "Feelin' Good" and some other clips.
I expected to see all of her full performnaces.
Like what everyone else said, some clips from the other finalists and some extras.
That's all - If you're looking for Michelle's auditions and extras buy it - If you're not, than don't! :-)

brilliant video for memoriesReview date: 2004-03-28 Rating: 10 out of 10brilliant video for all pop idol fans
laugh and cry with all 20,000 applicants right through to when michelle was crowned queen of Pop Idol
i love watching this videoExtremely disappointing.Review date: 2004-03-09 Rating: 2 out of 10Having bought this DVD, I do feel completely ripped off by the Pop Idol media machine. I was a huge fan of the show, and really enjoyed the weekly live finals. I expected these to be included in full - each of the songs from each contestant. Not only are they not in full - around 30-60 second clips at most - but some are not even on there at all! As a Susanne fan I was horrified to find that hardly ANY of her finals performances were on there - not even the amazing 'Ironic' from 'Your Idol' week. And it's not only her who loses out - don't expect to see a lot of your own favourite, unless it was Michelle or Mark. The rest of the CD is the usual rubbish you see on telly specials - the best of the worst, etc.. To be honest, real fans are interested in the 12 winners, NOT the people who didn't make it.
A word of advice: don't buy it. A waste of money.
Good recommendationReview date: 2004-02-25 Rating: 6 out of 10I have always been a fan of the ITV phenomenon that is Pop Idol - I watched the first series, where a now-famous and very popular Will Young won the competition. Now, with the second series, I can happily say I enjoyed the experience moreover.
The video, entitled Living The Dream, is the title given to Michelle McManus after she was crowned Queen of Pop Idol - all becuase the bookies said she couldn't do it!
I thurally enjoy watching this video. My favourite bits are Warren and Eye of The Tiger, The Matrix Man, and the mixture of contestants who were, to say it politely, 'not very good'.However, there are several disappointing aspects:
1. The final 12 are edited so that only half of their performances are seen, and most of the time you do not see all 12 - 3 contestants perform as they progress.
2. The Final should have been unedited so that it ends the video on a very good standard - you only see sections.
3. Judges comments are scattered all over - there should have been a pattern such as the comments after each performance... not in between and during performances which puts you off watching.
Overall, enjoyable but in a strange way.... I give this 3 out of 5... if you want the whole series and more footage, buy the DVD version for a couple of quid more.
VERY GOOD!!!!!Review date: 2004-02-22 Rating: 10 out of 10I really throughly enjoyed this so much. I have watched it 5 times and evn introduced it to my grandparents. They really liked it.
It is very cut but it doesnt matter because it shows the people that get through. Ant and Dec are so funny and do keep you laughing even when it gets to the final 100 and 50.
At the end Michelle sings her song "All this Time"
