For a Perfect Sleepover Night !
Review date: 2008-02-20 Rating: 10 out of 10

I got this movie from London from my dad from HMV, and I countn't wait to see it and I watched it that very night and it was AMAZING! YOU HAVE TO SEE IT NOW. Basicly it's about this girl (Amanda Bynes) who went looking for her dad (Colin Firth)in London and he is a top Parliment worker and he also owns a very big expensive mansion with his new engaged wife and her daughter. They are haveing a great time together until his ferince ruins everything. She has a whicked time going to Dress shows, Balls and Garden parties.I LOVED IT, YOU WILL TOO.
THE PERFECT TEENAGE FLICK CHICK FOR YOU AND YOUR GIRLFRIENDS TO WATCH GIGGLE AND LAUGH!

The Battle Of The Cliches
Review date: 2007-05-13 Rating: 2 out of 10

This silly movie is full of the most ignorant cliches about England gathered in one film--even Americans who've never been there know better. But I can't feel too broken up about that, as I've seen too many British-produced movies and television programs with just as silly and tired cliches about the United States(one memorable one was the American characters and depictions of California in the cozily smug television program "As Time Goes By".). But even besides that, the movie is excrutiatingly sappy and the "cute" quotient makes my teeth hurt. Not to mention its message of "be true to yourself" is about as deep as a finger bowl. And if I see one more film expounding the idea that "a little child(or know-it-all teen) shall lead them", I'm going to go find some babies to pinch.

fantastic

ok this is a wonderful full of fluff cute chick flicky film (although i know some lads who love it too). Bynes is adorable - try shes the man thats awesome too. colin firth is forever perfect as the broody hero yet to come out of his shell. oliver james is a relative newcomer who is gorgeous sweet. his singing is great too.
the story is sweet. some weepy bits but over all good laughable fun!
you wont regret buying this!

Why did you do it Colin?

I sat down to watch this film for two reasons. Number one, my Mum loves Colin Firth and will watch anything he's in and secondly, I'm a sucker for a teen flick! The premise of this film is good enough. Girl doesn't know father, wants to find father, goes to homeland of father who is a politician and doesn't have time for his daughter. What annoyed me is how unrealistic some of the scenes are. For instance, there is not a chance in hell that a London bus would stop in front of a 'house' like that! There are no houses like that in London that people actually live in besides Buckingham Palace and even the queen doesn't live there half the time! Amanda Byrnes was ok but began to be rather tedious after a while, Colin Firth shouldn't have agreed to do this movie but did the best he could with possibly the worst script ever, Kelly Preston is pretty (that's it) and the only interesting thing about it was the cute British guy who would never have as many jobs as he seems to have in the film! This will suit little American girls who can convince themselves that in London we all live in palaces and that there are 'coming out' parties that we all go to. Unfortunately real life is nothing like this, not even for the royals. A fairy tale that went awry me thinks!
