Bad Boys:
When $100 million of seized heroin is stolen from the Miami Police lock-up, Detectives Lowrey and Burnett, Miami's most mismatched cops, are called upon to solve the case before the FBI close their department. Julie is their only lead to the case, but will only speak to Lowrey. As Lowrey is not around when she calls, Burnett impersonates his cool slick partner. A hilarious role reversal begins in order to retain her trust. From then on, it's a race against time as the trio dodge the mob, and retain their charade while putting pressure on every low-life in Miami's underworld to track down their man.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are back – and oh so bad – on the streets of Miami in Bad Boys 2, reuniting them with producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Michael Bay. Narcotics detectives Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) have been assigned to a high-tech task force investigating the flow of designer ecstasy into Miami. Their inquiries inadvertently lead them to a major conspiracy involving a vicious kingpin (Jordi Molla), whose ambitions to take over the city’s drug trade have ignited a bloody turf war. But Mike and Marcus’ friendship and working relationship is threatened when Mike begins to develop feelings for Marcus’ sister Syd (Gabrielle Union). Unless they can separate the personal from the professional, the bad boys are in danger of blowing the case and endangering Syd’s life in the process.

Synopsis
A boom 'n' bang boxset of BAD BOYS 1 and 2:
BAD BOYS: Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) is a happily married family man. Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) is a smooth-talking, freewheeling bachelor. Both are cops in the narcotics division of the Miami police department. When $100 million dollars worth of seized heroin is stolen from their police station, the mismatched duo are forced to switch identities to placate the only witness (Tea Leoni) who can lead them to the drug lord responsible and save their jobs before the FBI closes them down. This explosion-heavy, chase-filled, gun-smoking action comedy is directed by Michael Bay (ARMAGEDDON, PEARL HARBOR) and showcases comedic odd-couple-style bantering between the aptly paired Smith and Lawrence.
BAD BOYS 2: Burnett and Lowrey return as partners on the Miami Tactical Narcotics Team in director Michael Bay's sequel to BAD BOYS. Car chases and shoot outs are daily occurences as the two try to track down a big time Ecstasy dealer. The trail leads to Johnny Tapia (Jordi Molla) a Cuban immigrant who runs the biggest drug cartel on the East Coast. The stakes are raised when Marcus discovers that his sister, Syd (Gabrielle Union), an agent for the Drug Enforcement Agency, is working undercover trying to bust Tapia as well. And to further complicate matters, Syd and Mike have become involved romantically and are keeping it a secret from Marcus. Jam-packed with massive explosions, wild chase scenes, and flying bullets, this wild ride is filled with action and violence. Smith is charming as the quick-tempered, fast-talking Mike, and Lawrence is his ideal counterpart as the stressed-out Marcus, who resorts to therapy tricks to keep calm. Joe Pantoliano reprises his role as Captain Howard, who is livid about the trail of wrecked cars and damage his boys leave behind them.
vaguely entertaining cinematic spectacle
Review date: 2007-12-02 Rating: 4 out of 10
With the two big-name stars and direction from Michael Bay this should be a treat for fans of the original, but any premise of a story is lost amid a blur of tiresome dialogue and explosive action sequences. This movie will appeal to young boys and men who spend too much time with their playstations.
Amazing, deep, engrossing story NOPE
Compeletely brillaint acting NOPE
Oscar worthy material NOPE
Original NOPE
Clever NOPE
Enjoyable? hell yes!
As you can see the bad boys films do not exactly set the world alight. They will win no oscars. But jesus christ are they enjoyable.
Both of these films absolutly dazzle. The action sequences are big, loud and brilliant. They are shot in an absolutly brilliant way, that really DRAGS you into the action. Both films (especially 2) are full with, honestly some of the best chases i've ever seen. Look at the causway chase in BB2. Try to watch it without opening your mouth with amazement. While the acting of Will Smith and Martin Lawerence is now where near others level, their chemesrty is absolutly amazing, and they work well together to make some rib crackingly funny scenes.
The plots are really non existint, just an excuse for some big, loud action.
There isn't really much more to say, just get these films. If not at least watch them. There are loud, big explosive, sweary action-a-thons, that any action fan will love.
