Wallow in the nostalgia of the 1950s as Britain's best loved family are back in this celebration of love, family life and romance in the idyllic British countryside. Loveable rogue Pop Larkin (David Jason), Ma (Pam Ferris) and their six children, including the stunning Mariette (Catherine Zeta Jones) radiate happiness with hardly a care in the world! Whilst Pop's unconventional (and dubious) money-making schemes bubble along Ma nurtures the family and friends and neighbours from the warmth of her busy kitchen and life continues in a paradise of sunshine and happiness.

The Darling Buds of May series is a trip into total nostalgia where it cannot fail to stir the emotions. Watching these DVD's not only take you back to a time when life was far more simple and straightforward, but full of the joy of life itself. The way the original stories have been adapted and portrayed is wonderful.
There are very few DVD's that I would watch over and over, but these are top of the list and will be for many years to come.
They don't make them like this any more!

I have loved The Darling Buds of May since I was seven and recorded every episode on VHS, this is great because I have watched them many times, however, VHS doesn't last! When the DVD was released I ran out and bought it. I'm sure people purchasing this item are fans of the programme and the wonderful episodes are unchanged. For me the bonus of owning the DVD is that I don't have to fast forward through the adverts from 1993 and I know it won't run out in a couple of years! Buy it, it will be an asset to your collection and if you can't remember one or two of the episodes or subtle jokes then you can curl up on the sofa and refresh your memory, don't worry if you find yourself grinning at the TV, this is a normal reaction!
