Where are the UK's box sets?
Review date: 2007-08-22 Rating: 10 out of 10
I had to bid like crazy on a certain online auction site to get this, back when it was like gold dust on Amazon. Well worth the money - it is the only decent collection us Brits can get our mitts on at the moment!
I can't help but get smiley and happy when the theme tune starts up. The show is just so surreal and yet again, I always say 'they don't make kids' TV like they used to!' Now if I can just get T-Bag on DVD, and save up for the Dream Stone... :-)
I'm getting very frustrated at the 'Complete Season' Fraggles box sets popping up on here for the US - what about us? I'm going to have to start a wish list just for 'US DVDs waiting for UK conversions' soon!!! The BBC's (!) adaptation of Ruby in the Smoke is another one...

Classic TVReview date: 2006-06-02 Rating: 10 out of 10Fraggle rock! About time too. You cannot beat the Fraggles. The show had an innocence and genuine humour not found in half of the programmes aimed at kids today. Worth buying for your own memories and to share with your own kids, so they can appreciate some real talent and fun.BewareReview date: 2005-11-20 Rating: 6 out of 10Just in case you can't tell from the listing, I thought I'd point out that this is not the ever so long awaited complete first series of Fraggle Rock. If you only plan to buy one Fraggle Rock DVD in your life and you want it now, buy this one. If you want to see the first episode first and relive every fabulous episode in order hang out for a new release.Classic 80s telly at its bestReview date: 2004-08-18 Rating: 10 out of 10Fraggle Rock!! Man! I used to watch this wnen I was little! Classic telly it was! Sod Teletubbies and all this Boobah malarkey, the 80s knew how to do GOOD children's TV programs and Fraggle Rock was one of them!Definitely worth buying this if you're 20 something and fancy a trip down memory lane, or if you have young kids stick this in the DVD player and it'll keep them quiet for hours while you do your house work or whatever.
So a BIG thumbs up from me for Fraggle Rock then!
DOWN AT FRAGGLE ROCK IS WHERE IT'S AT!!Review date: 2004-05-24 Rating: 8 out of 10I would like to think that today's kids would understand the appeal of this classic TV series. I fear, however, that the humour and old-fashioned looking muppetry may be lost on them. If this is so and they prefer Barney, Teletubbies and Fimbles then they are sorely missing out in a way that just cannot be explained. I remember this as one of the funniest children's TV programmes of the day and certainly the best of the Muppet-based shows. I would even go so far to say it is better than The Muppets, just for the sheer hilarity I found as a kid and still do today. It is worth noting though that the picture is unacceptably poor. Granted it is 20years old but the picture is very grainy and could have been cleaned up to make it sharper. A minor quibble, but it only matters more because it would have been nice to see Fraggle Rock given the DVD treatment it deserves. Just rewind back to the days when VHS was all the rage and you'll be more than happy.
