What can I say what hasn't been said already? Not alot I'm afraid, but let me tell you this is a must see British Comedy.
The programme follows the unlucky and disaster prone Frank Spencer, played by the wonderful Michael Crawford.
Trouble follows Frank every where he goes and he always ends up in some interesting situtaions, such as hanging off a car hung over a cliff, flying a plane with no experience and even skating down the street behind a bus. Spencer causes trouble for everbody he comes into contact with (Watch out for a young Richard Wilson in one episode).
Michele Dotrice plays Franks loving wife Betty, who loves him for who he is. The on screne chemestry is great.
This comedy is still shown on TV today, it may look a bit dated now, but the whole family will enjoy it as it is a fun harmless comedy, which won't insult anyone. It's made even better by the fact that Crawford carries out all of his own stunts. It's been produced with a great quality.
The boxset includes the three series and three Christmas Specials. I only wish they'd have made more.

Mr. Spencer..Review date: 2008-06-18 Rating: 10 out of 10It raw, pure and simple comedy, one of my favourite just as "Allo-Allo". It is eternal, for any age group and for any one who like raw comedy. They don't make programme like this any more.Silly, but totally classic, humour! Review date: 2007-12-15 Rating: 10 out of 10I don't remember when I was first 'introduced' to Frank Spencer and his madcap ways - I was too young. But I always remember thinking that he was really funny, and if an episode of Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em was on the TV, then I'd always watch it. As I got older, I found them even more humorous as I 'got' some of the jokes that in my innocence would have totally bypassed me. And now I'm hooked.
When I saw all of the episodes were available as a box set, I just had to have it. People may think it's unusual that someone of my age would rather watch a show that was first shown on TV before I was born that some of the modern stuff. But this show is a classic and I love it. It's got none of the special effects of today's shows, and it doesn't need crimes, deaths, affairs and teenage pregnancies to make it compelling viewing. It's just pure and simple comedy; a show about the life of a good, but completely deranged simpleton and his long-suffering (and also not that bright) wife. Of course, some of the scenes are pretty unrealistic, but I think it's that which makes it so funny. And I never get bored of watching them - the episodes are just so silly, and I think Frank Spencer's "Ooo Betty!" catchphrase has already gone down in history and will continue to be used in conversation for years to come.
If you too, were born after this show was filmed but have no idea what I'm talking about, seriously, give it a try. If you like silly, slapstick humour - you will love Frank Spencer. Never fails to make me laugh. This guy is soooooooooooooooooo funnyReview date: 2007-08-01 Rating: 10 out of 10you will see all episodes of some mother's do have em and all the funny moments.
