Amazon.co.uk Review
The 1991 Christmas Special of the best-loved UK sitcom of its time, Only Fools and Horses: Miami Twice is a two-parter which takes Del Boy and Rodney on a transatlantic jaunt that turns out to be more than the jolly boys' excursion they'd bargained for. The action begins in Peckham, with the christening of Del's recently born child Damien. Never without an eye for the main chance, Del takes the vicar aside and outlines a scheme to save "vicar hours" and get a "nicker and a bit ahead" by "pre-blessing" lorry loads of Romanian wine he's arranged to be imported, selling them on to other clergymen. Rodney, meanwhile, has received a pensions fund rebate and Del unscrupulously engineers it so that the pair of them jet off to Miami where he looks forward to showing off his leopardskin trunks. The first part of Miami Twice is classic stuff, featuring the familiar ensemble with some vintage idiocy from Trigger and some hilarious farce involving a baby intercom. The second part, however, set in America, is a let-down, involving as it does a rather lame and far-fetched plot in which Del turns out to be the double of a local Don (an excuse for David Jason to deliver a hackneyed Godfather impersonation). A cameo from Richard Branson feels like product placement and generally the Trotters feel all at sea when off their home turf. A Christmas audience, stuffed with pudding, would have indulged this over-rich fare but there's no reason to come back for seconds. Still, it's worth it for the first 50 minutes.
On the DVD: Only Fools and Horses: Miami Twice has no special features on DVD but holds up well visually, albeit unable to rid the original of blights such as a distracting burst of studio light in the first part. --David Stubbs
Classic Only Fools....ruined
Review date: 2008-08-19 Rating: 2 out of 10
One of our favourite episodes of one of our favourite shows, utterly ruined by pathetic canned laughter, and clumsy editing. The BBC should be ashamed of themselves for desecrating one of the classic Trotter brothers' adventures.

Funny but overlong and no extrasReview date: 2007-09-27 Rating: 8 out of 10This is a good episode and full of laughs. The one major disadvantage is that it is over 2 hours long and they seem to stretch it out too far. They still manage to fill it up with laughs though!
This episode begins with the christening of Del and Raquels' baby Damien. Del manages to persuade the vicar after the christening to purchase a bulk order of wine to bless by the lorry load and ear a profit by selling to churches all over the nation. Of course, there is something in it for him. The only problem is, that the wine does not represent the colour of Christ's blood as it is white! However, Del has already gone off to Miami with Rodney, leaving Raquel to sort things out!
The whole of the world are looking for 2 Australian guys - hence Del and Rodney!
This is a very good episode of the series and I recommend you buy it.Oh, to be in the BBC editing suiteReview date: 2007-08-16 Rating: 4 out of 10As with most Only Fools & Horses DVDs, this one has also been edited for "contractual reasons". Missing scenes include a hilarious meet-and-greet between the Trotters and the Mafia men. Originally broadcast as two episodes, they've been put together on the DVD and a horrendous laughter track has been added, making the dialogue difficult to hear at times. The show itself would get four stars, but due to the edits and sound mix, I'll give this DVD two stars because the edits aren't as bad as say 'A Royal Flush'.not so jolly Review date: 2007-04-18 Rating: 6 out of 10essentially a two parter that has been joined together as a feature length film of sorts lasting 145 minutes, miami twice is slightly jarred when one considers that the second episode is a bit weak in places and the laughs dont flow as freely as the first episode and the idea of the second one is just a little too far fetched even for only fools and horses.
The first episode involves a con when del tries to help cass and rodney get back together by buying them tickets to miami but the gesture is nowhere as nice as it sounds,as it turns out del heads to miami with america and there they befriend some gangsters who have dark motives for the trotters,it is then cat and mouse time as the trotters try and escape and the laughs are sprinkled rather than splattered everywhere and thats a shame, but overall you need this and probably wont regret buying it either.Lovely Jubley good fellar styleReview date: 2005-02-26 Rating: 10 out of 10I ordered this last week from the UK and ive got to tell you i got it in 5 days .
Im never dispointed with Amazon they provide the best service and by far the cheapest choices.
Anyway on to Miami Twice! I have not seen this Christmas Cracker since the year it was transmitted and im not sorry i brought it.
The Trotters are Stateside and being a brit living in the USA ive gotta tell you that everyone Here thinking your from Australia is true to life I can relate also driving down the Road on the wrong side of the road been there done that LOL.
The capers the too brothers get up to are hilarious even if far fetched , "well comon its a comedy".
The first part of the episode Del manages to con rodney in to taking him to miami with him as cassandra has an important week the bank in eastborne.
What Rodney does not know is Del aranged it so that The vacation would diliberately clash with Cassandras important trip and Rodney would be forced to take him or lose the money spent on the tickets.
Things go from bad to worse when they get state side as Del is a dead ringer for the local Mafia boss .
They try to substitute del for the don and have him knocked off so the authorities think the don is dead so they can not bang him up in the nick.
Well not to spoil anymore for you so order it yourself and Enjoy lovely jubley.
