Sadly this 2-disc set is a mess. The main English version is in pristine anomophic widesceen print but is the much abringed "Schzoid" cut. This means no breast stabbing scene, no dogs, less nudity and bizzarely no swan in the dream sequence. No serious Fluci or giallo fan will want to watch this version. Disc 2; the full italian version with english subtitles. At least the packaging is good!

Worth the wait?

Oh at last, delayed by over a year here is the Lizard on DVD at last. Is it good? Well it's a classic early 70's giallo, lots of twists, nudity, drugs, surreal dream sequences...that swan??!!
The infamous evisicated dogs (nice), vip pans gallore, fab use of London locations...Alexander palace etc. One of Fulci's best althought the ending is a bit of a let down, Fulci origonally planned it to be fantastical ending but was over-ruled by the promoters.
Morriconis soundtrack sounds fab in surround sound however.
Yes it's uncut all the above scenes are included. But the picture is pretty fuzzy and the sound is poor. Also unbelievably it' span and scan!!!. So two versions of a classic film that aern't worth watching. Surely the best version would be an English widescreen version with the cut scenes re-instated (with subtitles if necessary) A good example of this approach would be Anchor Bay's "cut and run" or "deep red".
