Make this your baby's first DVD
Review date: 2006-09-16 Rating: 10 out of 10
I got this for my three year old, but in fact it was the first DVD that the baby (eight months) really enjoyed. The music is great (catchy but not irritating - it is possible) and the stories are simple and witty, easy to follow.

Yoko! Jakamoko! Toto! Adventures with Yoko! Jakamoko! Toto!.Review date: 2005-09-20 Rating: 10 out of 10lets get this right...im 38...i live a normal life and i certainly dont fall into the catagory of watching childrens tv..but this i think this is one of the best kids/adult humour going...well put together and a laugh for all.Move over "world music" -- "world animation" is here!Review date: 2003-04-24 Rating: 10 out of 10The innovative design of this animation really makes it stand out from the cookie-cutter cartoon crowd. Strongly South American influenced characters and backgrounds, as well as the welcome move away from screaming primary colours, give this series a unique look.Best of all, the humour isn't just for kids. The motherly bird (Yoko), droll armadillo (Jakamoko) and wacky, loose-cannon monkey (Toto) compliment each other fantastically. Without the use of dialogue the three communicate clearly with noises, gestures and music, making for some terrific visual comedy.
Whether it’s working together to find a funny and innovative solution to a problem (as in “The Waterhole”) or teaching a non-preachy lesson about the value of friendship (“The New King ”), the trio’s adventures are enjoyable from start to finish.
Especially fun for adults are sly references to pop culture, as in “The Shell”, with its hilarious homage to the famous eye-narrowing showdown in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
I highly recommend it!
These Guys Rock!Review date: 2003-04-14 Rating: 10 out of 10I haven't seen the DVD yet, but was (and still would be if they were still on) an avid watcher of these guys when they first came out on CITV, and I've gotta tell you that even though they dont really talk as such (they communiucate by various soundings of their names in different tones of voice which is hilarious!), they provide tonnes of educational value in form of how they treat eachother and eachother's property, which is a very important aspect of youth. It's kind of a mishmash between the Simpsons and Spongebob Squarepants therefore, but totally (and don't forget wonderfully) different. The african 'thick black outlined' style animation and just how much raw emotion is shared far surpasses anything I have ever seen, for instance when a mad chase goes on between the trio (a cute little bird called 'Yoko', a wise and friendly armadillo called 'Jakamoko' and a miscevious chimp called 'Toto') as they squabble over who gets a seashell they find, until eventually they find that the shell has it's own occupant! Its so funny that one episode can revolve around one seashell, but each and every episode is just as great! I can't really express it in words. Just Watch it! Although I think it's supposed to be for children. Anyone WILL love it. Absolutely flawless.
This is a winner!!!Review date: 2003-03-30 Rating: 10 out of 10I love this show! The animation is wonderful and the stories are so original! I would certainly recommend this to people of all ages!
