Very DisappointedReview date: 2008-01-02 Rating: 4 out of 10Having seen quite a few of Adam Sandler's films, I was disappointed by this one. For me it was lots of nonsense scenes stuck together (e.g. his frostbitten foot being battered - what was that about?, or assulting people in a restaurant for no clear reason, or assulting a mugger lying down on a pavement etc etc). Even the romance theme didn't stack up and left me cold. I much preferred Happy Gilmore or Big Daddy. Buy for the kids only.funny, romantic, inventive and unpredictableReview date: 2007-05-21 Rating: 8 out of 10Mr Deeds was great entertainment:it was really funny, romantic, inventive
and unpredictable. This is the best Adam Sandler film I have seen and is a good comedy film even by the standards of other comedy actors like Bill Murray or Steve Martin. There are lots of extra sections on the dvd including a video of the pop star Dave Thomas singing, and previews of other Adam Sandler projects.Worth buying.Goofily cute movieReview date: 2007-05-07 Rating: 10 out of 10This movie is one after my heart. Adam plays a naive yet a man with great etiquettes who inherits a business empire from a long lost uncle. That is all great but the slight issue is he's too trusting with everyone. He can't tell who is the snake in the grass; basically he loves the media, and the two slippery 'advisers' he has. Not to mention he plays pranks on his servants... Adam really shines in this movie especially with his love interest being Winona Ryder (Babe)who he has an amazing chemistry with (but she also just wants to use him). Nevertheless, even with all these hurdles you get a feeling that Adam is gonna be just fine. The best parts of learning how to rich as Adam finds out is playing tennis. I just love it when Adam whacks the ball to Chuck and hits him in the groin then Cecil sniggers. Pure genius. (that had me rolling on the floor!) Well done Adam!! More films like this please AdamReview date: 2006-07-18 Rating: 8 out of 10For me Adam Sandler films tend to be hit or miss and nothing in between. So I was delighted to find that Mr Deeds is an example of the former. A wonderfully silly, very funny movie with a great cast and a great message. Sandler is similar to many of his other roles, however, the true thief of the show is John Turtorro who plays the hilarious, odd ball servant, Emilio. An enjoyable cameo from the ever great Steve Buscemi rounds off this silly but very enjoyable film.
