A GOOD HORROR FILM

I watched this last night in bed and found it to have a really creepy atmosphere that is rare in todays horror films.
This is an old black & white film and the version I watched had good sound unlike the other old horror films I watched which had muffled sound (CARNIVAL OF SOULS, CREATURE FROM THE HAUNTED SEA) which I have also reviewed.
The first time I watched this I was on edge and felt very uneasy about the whole thing but on the second viewing I jumped once and felt at ease and the sound effects are really creepy.
If the film was released now it would be a 12 certificate but at the time it would have been a 15 as the special effects were morbid and gory for the time.
The story is: When a brutal count finds that his wife has been unfaithful, he tortures her and her lover and puts them to eath, removing their hearts from their bodies in retribution.
Time passes and he remarries a beautiful and unsuspecting young woman.
Soon she is experiencing horrendous dreams and visions. It becomes apparent the spirits of the slain lovers have returned to exact their bloody revenge.
At the end of the film it is really scary, but sometimes the voices were out of sync with the mouth movements but with it being an old film I let it pass.
If you are looking for a good old black & white horror film you can do a lot worse then this.
Watch it and see what you think as you are entitled to your own opinion.
I think it's creepy and you might think so as well but as I said you can do a lot worse then this.
