Dreadful stuff.
Review date: 2005-01-30 Rating: 2 out of 10

In fairness, I didn't really think it would be any good at all. I was spot on, it was awful. Awful, awful, awful. Its a totally different movie than the first, excellent John Dahl masterpiece. The actress replacing Fiorentino does not convince and the story is nonsense. Its basically trying to cash in on the previous movies good name and I dont think it even managed that.
Where can I find the director to demand the return of the ninety minutes of my life he has stolen?

Terrible Sequel!
Review date: 2004-08-20 Rating: 2 out of 10

I didn't hold out any real hopes for this sequel to the stunning John Dahl film 'The Last Seduction' and I wasn't disapointed. The only thing this film shares with the original is the names of some of the characters. It's possibly one of the worst follow ups to an original ever made.
The plot is far more mundane, instead of cross and double cross we simply get Bridget Gregory (now played by Joan Severence instead of Linda Fiorentino) becoming involved in a phone-sex business in Barcelona run by Con O'Neill. Sensing that there's money to be made she starts creaming off the profits and depositing it in her own secret account.
There is a private detective on her trail, supposedly a tough private eye, but she's unconvincingly played by Beth Goddard, best known for playing Kathy Burke's neighbour in 'Gimme, Gimme, Gimme'. She doesn't convince as the tough Murphy and without a real threat the Bridget Gregory character doesn't seem quite as clever or twisted.
Set in Barcelona but with a large proportion of it actually shot in Wales the film fails to work as a sexy thriller, the direction is uninspired and most of the actors are miscast or unconvincing.
I'd always recommend the original but would only recommend buying the sequel if you're a completist or lover of trashy movies.
