"You can't kill the boogeyman", explained John Carpenter in the original, and to prove it Michael Myers returns in the handsome but grisly sequel Halloween 2. Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her role as Laurie Strode but spends most of her time cowering in a hospital gown, and Donald Pleasance runs around like a maniac as the panicky doctor desperate to hunt down Myers before he kills again. Carpenter writes and produces with partner Debra Hill and together they replace the mystery and uncertainty of the original with an exponentially bigger body count, some strange tales about the Druids and Pagan ceremonies, and the now-familiar family ties between Michael and Laurie. First-time director Rick Rosenthal (Bad Boys) paces the film at a brisk jog and directs it with a clean, crisp style, taking the murders out of the dark to display them in all their nasty detail. --Sean Axmaker

Yes, it's better than the original. It's quite suspenseful and Donald Pleasence great as Dr. Loomis. Shocking enough to be banned in Germany when it came out, but it's not really all that gory. A descent slasher.

Has anybody ever noticed that, at the begining of Halloween 2 when they show us the last few minutes of Halloween 1 again, that Dr Loomis manages to fire 7 bullets from the same gun into Michael without stopping to reload. Was the editor that dumb that he couldnt count up to 6?

I quite enjoyed the first Halloween, i became tempted to buy the second afterwards but ended up borrowing it from a friend. I'd say this was better than the first. There was more to 2nd movie, slow moving but always kept me watching because the storyline clearly gets you wanting to watch on to see where and what the killer will do next.
If you liked the first, buy this! But i would watch this anyway.

Halloween II kicks off where the first ended, after michael myers has once again escaped from Dr. loomisis grip he seeks for laurie the only surviver of that fatal evening she is taken to a Hospital to recover from her wounds and to rest, where michael is a foot and is ready to finish the night off, loomis trys to track down Michael but with no success, will this be the end of Laurie Strode?
Well the film sounds good and it is it's a real treatt to see the sequel being has good has the original, this hasnt got all the suspense and climatic feel to it has the original does but it does deliver the bumps and definatley the chill's.
The script isnt has polished or has tense has the first one but you cant have it being on the same line has the first one it just wouldnt work, With a new film score simialer to the Original but slightley tuned up more the film fits well with the first one they feel like one movie when watched together.
The gore in this film is highered and not cut away like the first one hence the boiling water sequence.
I am pleased with this film and am prowed of having this in my Halloween collection

This film is set on the same night of the original movie. Jamie-lee-curtis is taken to hospital to be treated for her wounds after beeing attacked by Michael Myers in the first movie. However Michael is not dead and comes to the hospital to finish her off...as well as about 50 other people!!!
There is some gore although not loads of it. Friday 13th is better at that. It's suprisingly menacing, but not scary.The creepy music is still here, and Michael couldn't be freakier!

A great sequel!
