ANOTHER OF OZZY'S BEST
Review date: 2007-09-06 Rating: 8 out of 10

Despite a never-ending succession of guitarists, Ozzy Osbourne never changed his basic musical attack over the years. There are slight differences between the records, with the only noticeable distinctions being the production fads of the time. Ozzmosis, his sixth solo studio album, isn't all that different from his previous two records, No More Tears and No Rest for the Wicked, largely due to the still impressive skills of guitarist Zakk Wylde. However, even Wylde's prowess is diluted by the slick, modern-rock conscious production by Michael Beinhorn (Soul Asylum). Occasionally, the guitar is synthesized, which is indicative of the album's main flaw -- on the surface, the music is hard and loud, but it actually sounds smooth and processed. Furthermore, there's a distinct lack of fully formed songs and riffs, which is what really sinks the record. Osbourne can survive bad production -- he has for most of his career -- but he can't survive without having anything to sing.

A Return to Form for the Oz.

Wow,

I expected this to be so drab with a couple of decent Rockers which appeared to be the norm over the last albums but was shell shocked at the quality of this album, great rockers, riffs all well put together.

Never to be the blizzard or madman style but still a solid effort a well, well recommended.

Well Done Ozzy - So you Haven't got to Domesticated or is it well done Sharon!.

Good stuff.

Was supposed to be Ozzy's farewell album.

This was the album Ozzy released before his early retirement after being misdiagnosed with illness he did not have. Nearly to say Ozzy has returned since then but this Album still stands out. Tracks such as 'Perry Mason', 'I just want you', 'Ghost behind my eyes', 'See you on the other side' and 'My Little Man' are great tracks worth the price of this album. This version of the album unlike the original release has two extra tracks, 'Whole world fallin down' and 'Aimee' a track written for his first daughter to wife Sharon. For Ozzy to release and album with two songs written for and about his children certainly shows his tender side and less of the crazy madman side in his earlier work. A good album at a great price buy it today.
