Volume 3 Featuring The Mach 1 Chopper That Kicks Butt
Review date: 2003-04-22 Rating: 10 out of 10

Well, Airwolf vol. 3 features more action from the brooding Hawke, the cuddly Santini and my favourite helicopter, Airwolf.

I could complain that the various DVD releases feature episodes out of sequence but seeing as some episodes are better than no episodes at all, I will ignore that.

The first episode on the DVD is 'Moffett's Ghost', an absolutely gripping episode. I'll backtrack for a minute. In the pilot episode, Airwolf's creator-a Dr. Charles Moffett-designed Airwolf and then went mad and went to Libya. Hawke and Satini travelled to Libya, took Airwolf and killed Moffett. Everythings okay, right? Wrong! It would seem that Moffett had programmed a virus into Airwolf which would be triggered if Airwolf didn't receive a code after several months. In this episode, Airwolf is out of control, it is firing on it's own country's jets and doing whatever it wants-and the pilots are at a loss as to what to do next. This is a brilliant episode and the end scene is just phenomenal as Airwolf does something absolutely amazing (which I won't spoil).

The second episode is 'Severance Pay'. An employee retires from 'The Firm' but is denied retirement benefits. In revenge, he gives top Firm secrets to the media and Hawke goes after him to try and make him see the error of his ways. But who is really the bad guy in this episode? Watch and find out.

The third episode is 'HX-1'. Hawke believes his MIA brother is in the States and believes he is behind the theft of a new helicopter that can outrace any other chopper. Has Hawke's brother turned bad?

Three great episodes from a fantastic show!

I used to be an avid Airwolf fan when i was a kid, however it looked liked i missed a few episodes, but now im catching up. The one star negative: Like all episodes there are scenes where there are flaws or bloopers. Same expolsions for anything that gets blown up, shots of 2 people in the cockpit when only string is flying it, weapons armed then a split second they arent. However 4 stars for the spine tingling spookiness as airwolf gets taken over by Moffett. Great technical knowledge and shpiel of flying manouevers and equipment throughout all episodes. Sort of timeless in its way.... however still waiting for one of my favourite episodes....REDWOLF!!!

Another helping of Airwolf - GREAT !

The episodes featured in this DVD are :
1. Moffets Ghost - where Henry James Moffet (from the pilot episode) has left a destructive trigger in Airwolf, and the helicopter starts to assume autopilot by itself... This is a treasure of an episode.
2. HX1 - where Hawke's brother is assumed to have been behind a weapons robbery. Another great episode.
3. Severence Pay - where Hawke's ex-employee threatens to spill the beans. Not so thrilling.
Other episodes I would like to see on DVD are The Pilot (of course), Echoes From the Past (a classic episode), Mind Of the Machine, Bite of The Jackal, and The Hunted.
I have given this DVD 4 stars owing to the choice of Severence Pay, and also to reflect that the episodes are not in sequence.
