Amazon.co.uk Review
Only a mother could love John Hughes' comedy Baby's Day Out. For anyone else, the nappy soon starts to stink. Baby Bink is kidnapped by three inept crooks, but the child escapes from their hideaway, leading to a chase through the city. Bink's journey follows the story line of his favourite bedtime book, Baby's Day Out: he goes to a zoo, a construction site, and a retirement home. Hughes, though, is following his accountant's favourite bedtime tale, "Let's rewrite Home Alone again", but with very little of the humour or impact of that smash. A number of scenes revolve around the crushing or incineration of Joe Mantegna's groin, not exactly average family fare. By way of small compensation there are some moments of levity with the crooks and a gorilla. --Keith Simanton, Amazon.com
GREAT FUN
Review date: 2007-09-29 Rating: 8 out of 10
Very funny film throughout.
A trio of bungling kidnappers are outwitted by a crawling baby, who leads them a merry dance from start to finish.
Great fun for all age groups.

Very funny, kept us amused all the way throughReview date: 2001-11-18 Rating: 10 out of 10The film was highly entertaining, very amusing, we couldn't stop laughing all the way through. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants cheering up.Brilliant Post-Modernist artwerkReview date: 2001-10-08 Rating: 10 out of 10Saturated in a cartoonish hue, this work, which requires no knowledge of a reality outside that of the cinema and children's books, has two standout scenes- both with Joe Mantegna. In the first the great actor is required to pretend he is a piece of fruit; the second, and the most braeveau scene in the film, features Mantegna with a firey groin. Nothing can match this film for its inane brilliance, a resplendance which is only mildly tempered by the slightly weak Donkey Kong climax. Not as good as I expectedReview date: 2000-11-03 Rating: 6 out of 10This film was not as good as aderts said it was. There we're funny scenes, but not many. The plot was good, though. Great storyline. But not as funny as I expected. Home Alone or Tom & Jerry style humour. Not bad, over all.
